No, Im going to go ahead and disagree.
We definitely have too many people getting overly excited about small issues but lets trace this back a bit.
We all know the history leading up to this and we all know there has been a lack of equality for many groups. Unfortunately, this manifested in a tribal way, which lacked patience and maturity.
Many of the movements have been incredibly positive. Gay marriage becoming legal is huge for many people, for example.
Many of the movements have been a little too much. Transgender bathroom stuff.
These kinds of progressive outcries have been both helpful and a detriment but it isnt anyone's responsobility but their own in how they respond.
Some folks are terrified of change and giving up what they feel is their leverage. The people all overreacting by showing up in white power crowds and sitting in groups geared towards the cleansing of different groups isnt on anyone but themselves.
At some point you must realize that these racist and xenophobic feelings are coming to the surface because theyre being drawn out. They were already there but were dormant. No more blaming other people for hateful rhetoric. Time to take responsibility and be a better person.

I was with you there for a while but then you digressed into Marxist deconstruction instead of using your head. It's not " fear of change" or " giving up leverage " . It's about conserving the Western ideals, principles, traditions and Institutions that have allowed mankind to achieve the greatest level of prosperity and personal security and fulfillment in human history.
Let's preserve the Western civilization that made " gay marriage " possible . Let's preserve the Western civilization that allows people to be " better people" . Let's take a moment to conserve that which is worth conserving. Change in itself is value- neutral . Change needs to be wise and in keeping with the preservation of our values . Preferring " the failed other" to " the successful self" is just another way of saying National Suicide.
