He is in the city center by the Bahnhof. My wife goes through the Munich Bahnhof everyday for work and calls the center Munichstan.

I used to work regularly in Munich and would always stay at the Courtyard at the Hauptbanhof because it was always an easy walk.
And over the past few years it has changed so dramatically. I joke when you cross the Bayerstrasse from the station to the Courtyard, I should get another stamp in my passport.
My german is poor, but good luck finding anyone who speaks it in that area.
And I have been confronted by some of the "locals" leaving Fruhlingfest the past couple years. It is going to get nasty there. You mess with folks when leaving a long drinking sessions and it will eventually spark up.
