If only Seth Rich was as important as Ben Jacobs.

I'll add you to the list Sally.

What in the bloody hell does a person have to do before they are told "no, you can't run for elected office?"

Tax evasion? No problem. Assault? No problem. Mishandling of classified material? No problem. Rape? No problem

Unreal that these two parties can't find better candidates.

Meh ... a lot of so-called reporters could use a good beating.

Hope the others were paying attention.

Eh, this is more of a professional courtesy thing. While I doubt I'd get to the point of a body slam, if someone walked into a meeting of mine un-invited, un-announced and continued to harass me when asked to leave, I'd likely say/do something that would be appealing.

You have literally no idea how the press gets into these things, do you?

They NEVER get close to a candidate without press credentials. That is literally the opposite of being "un-invited"

I think a dressing down is completely ok. Assault for asking a question is just not acceptable.

this board would be melting down if a liberal did this to sean hannity.

Yes, I do. Jacobs was invited to the BBQ or another public event, not the private interview with Fox News.

Sure they do, when they wander beyond the room they were asked to be in. This is a Montana special election at a short-term lease space in Bozeman, not the Rayborn building.

quote:

As part of our preparation for a story about Thursday's special election to air on "Special Report with Bret Baier," we arranged interviews with the top two candidates, Republican Greg Gianforte and Democrat Rob Quist. On Wednesday, I joined field producer Faith Mangan and photographer Keith Railey in Bozeman for our scheduled interview with Gianforte, which was to take place at the Gianforte for Congress Bozeman Headquarters.

Faith, Keith and I arrived early to set up for the interview in a room adjacent to another room where a volunteer BBQ was to take place. As the time for the interview neared, Gianforte came into the room. We exchanged pleasantries and made small talk about restaurants and Bozeman.

During that conversation, another man — who we now know is Ben Jacobs of The Guardian — walked into the room with a voice recorder, put it up to Gianforte's face and began asking if he had a response to the newly released Congressional Budget Office report on the American Health Care Act. Gianforte told him he would get to him later. Jacobs persisted with his question. Gianforte told him to talk to his press guy, Shane Scanlon.

Your credibility just ticked down to zero.

Lest we forget, it was the Democrats who sent operatives to Trump rallies to disrupt and start fights, wasn't it?

To be clear, at no point did any of us who witnessed this assault see Jacobs show any form of physical aggression toward Gianforte, who left the area after giving statements to local sheriff's deputies.
Except for an unauthorized intruder grabbing Gianforte's wrist and hitting him in the mouth with a tape recorder?

Isn't it incredible how Jacobs, the Buzzfeed reporter, AND the local FOX crew all told the same lie? And the cops believed them instead of the self-evident truth of Gianforte's statement?
