You really think those ranchers and his fellow idiots would have "won" a battle with the government if the government chose to wage it? Really?

What happened, simply, is that the government didn't want anybody to get hurt over a cow issue. The government was not so much impressed with the arms against them but with the stupidity and irresponsibility of the people carrying those arms.

Just because you characterize something a certain way doesn't make it so. That said, I haven't said a whole lot about this case. But, regardless, he clearly had enough support to defend his position. If he'd been the only one with a gun, this would have been over a long time ago.

I also doubt militias would have come to the defense of gun-despising hippies squatting on Yosemite or Yellowstone.

His family owned the rights before the BLM even existed. For all practical purposes, the govt came in at some point and declared itself part owner. I realize you lefties love that shite. Alas, a lot of freedom lovers don't.

Hypocritcal? I think the use of imminent domain is WAY overused and when it is, it is almost always against people of little means. I stand WITH them on that kind of shite. Meanwhile, you lefties seem generally OK with it.

You can spin it any which way you want.

Citizens showed up with guns and feds fricked off.

Well, they have their cattle back and I suspect that's what he meant by "win".

A wise choice.

Totally irrelevant... such rights don't exist in perpetuity unless you actually own the land. Bundy does not own the land. And they expire when you renege on your part of the deal. Bundy reneged.

The Federal government has been FULL AND ONLY owner since 1848 when the land was ceded by Mexico.

A lot of "freedom lovers" are ignorant, as you just showed yourself to be.

This was not an eminent domain issue. The land was not Mr. Bundy's.

And, by the way, it was we "lefties" who protested the loudest over the Supreme Court's Kelo decision, but you righties who are most prone to approve things like George Bush seizing a man's house in order to enrich himself with a new Texas Rangers stadium.

I think you misinterpret the reason folks oppose the government on this issue. It has very little to do with whether or not Bundy's cows were trespassing, or whether he owes back-taxes/fees.

That's correct. It has mostly to do with the fact that he promoted the use of guns against the government, any actual legitimate or legal reason be damned.

No.
But feel free to hold that view.
Hopefully other lefties will too.

What's the point of your photo? The Bundy's had threatened armed violence against the BLM and the gathered crowd was belligerent. You'd be railing against the incompetency of the Feds if one of their agents had gotten killed.

They only backed down because the story about Sen. Reid, Rory Reid and a Chinese sweet heart land grab hit The Drudge report.

I hear Hannity is readying a piece for this week also.

If not for this information getting out the feds would still be rounding up cattle.

Typical Hannity stupidity that stupid people fall for.

The BLM is an agency of the executive branch, not of Reid or the Senate. Also, Bundy first got a court order to evacuate his cows 20 years ago, and this has been an ongoing tussle since that time, long before any possible solar plant deals.

Furthermore, even IF Reid would like to use Federal land for a solar plant he is authorized to participate in the management and the disposition of that land by the Constitution and by the people who voted him into office. Mr. Bundy has no such right.

No, I didn't know that. I took a quick glance at the photo and because of the reports of BLM snipers in the area just assumed it was one of their agents.

That militia man is a fool. He is lucky the situation didn't degenerate into a firefight because he would have made the worst mistake of his short, misguided life.

You're the fool, that militia man has his heart in it and will probably fight to the death if he has to. Will the fed worker making $15 an hour really kill American citizens over a land dispute?? If so we're all in trouble, including you, because it will never stop
