My understanding is that this was an oral order so we really do not know what the judge's reasoning was but I cannot understand how the state would having standing. That said the simplest fix would be for Trump to issue another executive order with a slight tweak and if that gets blocked do it again and again.

Holy motherfricking overreach. That's borderline treasonous conduct on that judge's part.
The interest in protecting Americans has been subverted to that of foreign nationals who may be coming here to kill us.

The state argued that the EO did harm to the state. I have no idea how. In related news Amazon, Microsoft and Expedia threw their support behind this suit. Once again the establishment sticks it to the little guy.
