Why not just make up stuff about your heritage so that someone else pays your bills?

Why does anyone at all need to be taxed to pay for someone else's student loans? I had student loans when I got out of grad school, but I don't recall every expecting anyone else to pay them back for, nor do I recall ever whining about having to pay them back.

Democrats have too many rich donors for this to work; she'll end up pushing for forgiveness through monetization of the debt, the bubble keeps growing as loans keep going out, kids keep getting degrees in some of the silliest and easiest fields such as psychology, sociology, education, to the point that these markets become completely flooded, none of them can make a living and pay back their debts, and we do this all over again until a lesson is learned.

Straw man. Try again.

For a straw man fallacy to exist there has to be an actual argument in the first place. The OP presents no argument.

How about not taking out a student loan for fricking masters in German fricking Polka History?

Or do you look down on people who don't have a degree?

Now now, someone has to carry on the fine tradition of German Polka.

Everyone on student loans does that. You're right. Billions every year, poured into German fricking Polka HIstory.

You make a good point.

Do look down on factual reality?

And every year colleges and universities produce more overqualified, overindebted, Starbucks baristas. Who STILL can't get your order straight.

What can Congress do about it, on the front end, to rein in tuition?
One way is to force schools to have some skin in the game. I've co-sponsored a bill with Sen. Jack Reed [D-R.I.] that requires colleges with high student-loan defaults to pay back some of the federal student aid they use.
That is a very interesting idea.

Not at all, if you present some actual facts for a change, then maybe I won't think of you as a shite chucking ape.

Apparently the same is true for college graduates as well.

When did it become wrong for people to have to work their arse off and get good grades and try hard to get scholarships to go to college? Or work their arse off and slowly pay their way through school? Not everyone has the money to pay immediately and.live off mom and dad, but there are plenty of ways for people to go to school without getting themselves involved in student loans. I don't feel sorry for anyone struggling from taking these out. They weren't required.

Our society is obsessed with instant gratification and wanting everything right now.

A lot of students make a mistake in letting themselves choose a degree path that will not lead to lucrative employment opportunities after college. It's critical to make the right choice when the stakes are so high. The costs of tuition is rising incredibly fast nationwide, and very little is being done to keep it in check.

Some posters have to craft a fictional extreme stance in which to debate instead of providing a valid counterpoint. It seems like almost all of your posts are strawman arguments that are so contorted and stretched that they become too implausible to be interpreted as a valid response to the post that you are quoting. Perhaps for the the sake of variety, you should choose another logical fallacy than this same tired strawman.

If you want to properly troll an internet message board by misrepresenting dissent using the strawman fallacy, you really should be much more subtle than you would be in verbal communication. The posts you are quoting are in plain text and can be easily referenced when you attempt to undermine and misrepresent them. Without grasping that concept, you will continue to look incredibly stupid with posts like these even if they sound good in your head initially.

Yeah these are all useless jobs:

So what are the most commonly held careers for those with a bachelors degree in psychology? According to The College Majors Handbook, some of the top occupations that employ those with a bachelor's psychology degree are:
1. Top- and mid-level management and administration
2. Sales
3. Social work
4. Other management occupations
5. Labor-relations, personnel and training
6. Administrative positions
7. Real estate, business services and insurance
8. Marketing

I worked at a video store for 2 years to start paying back my loan and I didn't bitch. These pussy arse students need to man up and pay back these loans and stop bitching about it.
