Given only two choices, yes. increasing salary is a much safer and predictable way of handling this intervention into the market.

And most of the same people against PSLF will also hate paying government employees more.

Oh and you get to be called racist for doing it.

I'm not doubting you because morons can spin anything into being racist, but how is lowering the cost of education racist? I would think it would be looked at as the total opposite.

You are assuming that the narrative would be lower cost. The narrative would be "Politician critical program that allows underprivileged groups access to higher education."

Now you are correct that it would result in lower costs, but you have to fight through the spin.

Would this include political workers for PACS, campaigns, etc.?

No. The rules are quite strict. Non-profits are heavily restricted in the program. almost none qualify. Program is almost exclusively for government agencies.

But this is total BS. Government makes a promise. People work for 10 FRICKING YEARS in a lower paying job on the premise that their loans will be forgiven. They could and would make, no joke, 10X their salaries in the private sector. But this is a program that helps attract top talent.

Just abhorrent.

What a load of horseshite. This is the most ridiculous bullshite in this thread. You know and I know the VAST majority of the people banking on thie program aren't making 10x or even 2x their salary on the private sector. in many cases, people using this program cant get hired in their current job by a private sector employer, because nobody needs them. People go to school specifically because these programs exist, and when they graduate, the only place that will hire them are state and fed governments. It's just as much a jobs program as TSA.

Errbody on the board acting like this program is made up of doctors and lawyers who want to "Give something back..."
