Why would they deem this outrageous? They signed an agreement with NATO to pay a certain amount each year.
It's no different than a loan in business. Get behind on payments, you rack up interest and penalty fees.
I guess common sense and enforcing agreed upon treaty terms is "outrageous" these days. It used to be called "honoring your word"

You are an idiot. Everyone is up in arms about NATO paying their fair share but fail to realize the US is the reason for this turmoil. After WWII, the US became the world police and told Europe and Asia to rebuild. That's when this all started. We have never given up our world police title and never will. It gives us free range to be where we want when we want. You can't be against a Globalist agenda and for a yuge military. It doesn't work.
