Our Federal government along with state governments and retail outlets continually make it easy for illegals by printing forms and advertisements in Spanish.
What steps should be taken to rectify this, thereby helping to discourage illegal immigration?

In schools? Yes.

In advertising? If you pay for an ad and it isn't obscene, then use whatever language you want. Its your money. You are advocating for more government.

Making English the official language of the USA doesn't help stop illegal immigration

A damn wall does.

As someone who's bilingual, yes. Absolutely make English our official language 100%.

Shouldn't you use multiple languages in those cases? English first but also any other language that would be commonly spoken by the audience. It's a safety issue at that point.

Agreed. The language of our country is English. Far too much money is wasted hiring people that are bilingual and creating bilingual things for residents of the US. It's one thing to have tourists who don't speak English. It's completely different to cater to residents of our country, legal or illegal, that don't speak English

All business conducted in this country should be conducted in English only. IT is the official language of the nation.

If it results in the creation of something like the OQLF in Quebec (language police), I would not support.

On government documentation and in the halls of government (which includes public schools)? Yes

Everywhere else? No. I think that's pretty stupid, actually. No Chinatown? No little Italy? No broken coonass French in LA? No thanks. I'd prefer not to slowly strip away the foundations of culture throughout the country.

I'm going with yes. I flew through the Houston (IAH) airport over Thanksgiving weekend, it really felt like I was in Mexico. One lady was trying to plug in her cell phone and the charger wasn't working. She didn't even attempt to ask for help in English, just started speaking spanish and luckily a young SJW came to her rescue and told her in spanish where she could charge her phone. I'm all for understanding different cultures (as seen on the travel board), but you have to at least make an attempt at speaking the language of the country.

When I went to china in september I would try to talk to the waiters/waitresses in chinese. It was horrible broken chinese, but they got the idea and tried speaking with me in broken english so we were able to establish some sort of communication

I'm against it cause I'm learning Spanish so the more Spanish I see and hear the better it is for learning.

All government forms and signs should be in English.

All standardized tests and college applications for state schools should be in English.

All schools should require english be taught as if it is the native language, BUT all children should also be required to learn at least one, maybe two, other languages at an early age.

Let advertisers and private schools do what they will.

I did some english as official language work once during an internship. The most compelling argument for me was that requiring english helps to break up enclaves, which is important enough for Spanish-speaking immigrants, but is arguably a security issue for Muslim immigrants/refugees.

When you can live in an apartment building and spend all day around neighbors, watching tv, listening to radio, buying food, etc. and never once speak english, assimilation just won't happen.

Isn't English also the most widely used language amongst those in business across the globe?
