No. It was however founded upon basic morality and many of the Founders writings say that morality and adherence to the belief in a Creator are crucial to preserving the republic. Basically if you stray from religion and morality then eventually the country will collapse on itself

Yes, I believe so. Most of those who settled were from Europe, which was a primarily Christian part of the world, so it could be said this nation was founded on Christian-based principles.

But let's say for the sake of argument that you were correct, what did the founding fathers intend? I suggest they thought there was no need for an over-bearing government because the majority of citizens were God-fearing and did their best to live what they believed to be moral lives.

Uh, or you could just look at the plain text of the establishment clause. Our government does not endorse a specific religion, even we have an overwhelmingly Christian makeup.

Where do you think the establishment clause came from? It wasn't in the Constitution. And the intent was not to endorse a certain denomination of Faith over another, since ALL of the signers belong to different denominations

You realize that:
1 - the Constitution was for the states to reign in/limit the Fed, not the other way around
2 - the states can do whatever they want

This is the correct answer. Judeo Christian values are the defining core principles most immigrants have in common. That is until the last two generations.
The founding fathers were not worried about the bible as much as they were the value of Judeo Christian law. Our first four presidents were more Unitarian than anything. The father and son and Holy Spirit were not principles which they believed. But in one God.

You're incorrect.
Deism was an influence on many of the founding Fathers (and was a popular post-Enlightenment view). I don't think it's correct to say that the majority were Deists.
Either way, Deism, while not a Christian doctrine, is a supernatural view of creation.

Founded as one? No. Otherwise, the religious "test" prohibition would not have been in the Constitution.
Founded by people that were reared in the Judeo-Christian tradition and believed in a higher power? Absolutely.
