Case in Point: Health Care Substitute and other non-accomplishments in 2017. I'm a life-long Republican and I am totally disgusted with the current Congressional GOPe leadership.

You are just now disappointed?

I gave up on the GOP years ago. This doesn't surprise me at all, I expected it

What took you so long?

The biggest obstacles to Trump are the Republican'ts in Congress, particularly in the Senate. They have no intestinal fortitude.

We really do need term limits and the swamp must be drained.

Great article, completely agree with it. frickers don't care about doing anything other than getting elected, then worrying about the next election as soon as they are sworn in.

Neither the Republicans nor the Democrats are looking after our best interests. Shoot, for that matter, I would say that nobody in Washington is. Not even the Independents. We have set up a government that relies on corruption and favors to even get to participate in the government.

Republicans make billions of dollars from Obama care.

What on earth makes you think they went to end it?

Y'all are sounding more and more like democrats every day. Electing a president is a very small piece of the puzzle....holding the legislators you elect to account is totally different. Those legislators have to go home and listen to disgruntled constituents....it is one thing to villainize a program or policy for 8 years and then tell the people back in Hahira, Georgia how your plan is actually going to be worse for them than the one you cussed and lead them to believe you had a cure for....the people in Hahira may be dumb but they ain't stupid

It's all a game. Republicans, like Democrats don't want radical change. They need stuff to complain about.

I have been disgusted with the GOP leadership for years.

They like status quo and keeping their influence and power. That's why I feel term limits are important.

Term limits are a must at this point and have been needed for a long time. I fear even term limits may be too late.

I'd be interested to see what sort of power groups would be formed to elect new, controllable politicians.

Constitutional amendment needed to get term limits. 2/3rds of states.

This is really not the issue. I believe that the vast majority of politicians on both sides know what will work. They are too busy protecting big pharma and other companies in the healthcare industry to allow the free market to actually work. They control the market and we get screwed. We = everyone.

The lack of clarity re new version is spectacular fail.
6 years complaining and repeal votes in house and still nothing that the senate can stomach.
Trump claims the senate must not allow committee meetings to go over the bill. Just vote as he dictates. Hence term dictator. Will not fly in senate.

It blows my mind how these people continue getting elected. Sure they are all terrible and all corrupt, but if our electorate wasn't so ignorant and disinterested, we could maybe have real legislators.

But as it stands, 45% of the population votes and about half of that is actually informed. And yet Congressional approval is consistently below 30%. Blame the fat cats all you want, I deplore the climate as well, but plenty of dumbass everyday Americans are feeding them

Republicans and Democrats are exactly the same once they get to Washington, it's all about lining their filthy pockets with your money.

Dont you get it that there is no consensual sex without two lovers?

Portman, colllins do not like the bill. OP How do you lead them?
They spit on this bill. Peh. Peh. They spit on trump telling them they have vote up or down without meeting in committee. They spit on the tea party's warped vision.

Many of these GOP egomaniacs have no idea how to follow, therefore, they cannot be effective leaders.
