I think this sort of thing is what has endeared him to his voter base. He is just as ignorant and pigheaded as they are. He makes wild, half baked statements based off of half remembered facts and makes up the rest. It's like watching an amateur debate with the class clown who didn't really bother to prepare. It gives them something to which they can relate. If his constituency cared about him making absurd claims like this then he never would have been elected. He's been doing it for years. This is just the inevitable extension of the reality TV generation. I'm blaming it on the Kardashians.

You people are convinced of your own intelligence, but you can't even do simple tasks like stay on topic or hold a coherent conversation.
