National and global attention turns to situation in Sweden, exposing their failed immigration policies to everyone.

Problem is, no matter how obvious the disaster these policies create people still stick in their head in the sand on the issue.

Unfortunately, you're correct. According to data from their government, majority of Swedes support the current immigration policies.

I think this sort of thing is what has endeared him to his voter base. He is just as ignorant and pigheaded as they are. He makes wild, half baked statements based off of half remembered facts and makes up the rest. It's like watching an amateur debate with the class clown who didn't really bother to prepare. It gives them something to which they can relate. If his constituency cared about him making absurd claims like this then he never would have been elected. He's been doing it for years. This is just the inevitable extension of the reality TV generation. I'm blaming it on the Kardashians.

I agree with this pretty much.

You need to do some more research.

I am going to assume, for the sake of the hypothetical, that you went to LSU. I will make no assumptions as to whether you were a part of the IFC, but I will assume that you knew(know?) those that were(are?). Many of them are wealthy, and many of them are loud. Do you think they possess the same skills of journalistic manipulation due to these traits?

I guess I disagree on your premise of journalistic manipulation. I dont think he is a total buffoon but I dont think he is a mastermind, either. He is pretty obvious to me and his "manipulation" is that of a high school kid. Not really impressed.

The fact that so many idiots on this board think he is being successfully slick tells me he isnt. If you cant understand that basic understanding of counter manipulation, i dont know what to tell you

I think people give the president too much credit. He says something wrong or dumb and folks want to spin it into a type of super mastery, 3d chess in the 110th dimension, kind of thing rather than just admitting he messed up.

Kind of like this:
Trump: 2+2=5
Trump supporters: Oh wow! He's forcing liberals to talk about the failing public school system and making them support charter schools! 3d chess!! MAGA!!!

I like Trump but there is no grand strategy behind the stuff he says. He's obviously a news junky like most of us and brings up topics he hears or reads about. The media goes wild and then shockingly the bit of news he is talking about resurfaces. If you don't think he is paying attention, watch how fast he reacts to current events with his Twitter vs previous admins who would typically go a day or two to formulate a response. Right or wrong, with Trump you are actually hearing what he thinks. It's hasn't been kicked around the table for discussion messaging and polishing.
