They will refuse to say a blessed thing good about Trump, in particular with a major issue such as the economy.

Trump could cure cancer and they would cry "He is killing the pharmaceutical industry."

Good luck getting them to admit this.

I always say they would bitch about Trump curing cancer because they would claim he should have cured it sooner.

What exactly has he done with the economy? Specific actions? Other than ride the momentum Obama had established?

Kinda like the old "Saban's Players" argument.

Has there been a tangible change of course? All the trendlines ive seen have been a continuation of the Obama admin numbers.

Of course i dont spend every waking minute gargling Trumps nutz so perhaps that skews my opinion.

What has he done that is impressive with regard to the economy? Name the policy and the macro economic indicator that improved.

He hasn't screwed the economy up but I'm not seeing where credit is due

When the U.S. economic history books are written, they will surely have thick chapters explaining all the substantive trade and economic policy decisions that the Trump Administration made from January through September of 2017. Phenomenal stuff!

Presidents mainly set the tone in terms of the economy and he hasn't screwed up the trajectory the economy has been on for years. The trajectory has maybe edged toward a little more vertical which is to be expected with setting a bullish tone. Works for me, so while nothing I consider a big win it beats any sort of negative and thus is positive.

As for trade AFAIK he has backed off most of his rhetoric and I haven't seen much if any significant change in trade policy.

Nothing in particular. The bail outs and stimulus can be debated but those were mostly in place prior to Obama entering office. But this thread isn't about Obama. What did Trump do? Very little

You could say the exact same thing for Obama's tenure. Steady jobs and growth but nothing impressive. Not seeing the difference bud

We could finish the year with almost the exact same jobs growth and GDP growth as 2016

Was a registered Democrat from 2008-2017, President Trump has done a FANTASTIC job with the economy and trade, will continue to do so as well.
