Was Ryan an East Coast SEAL or West Coast SEAL? It matters because West Coast SEALS truly enjoy hurting guys like Grilo.

It's a child's response, that's what's pathetic. Someone, some group, some party needs to rise above the mentality of 'got you last'.
Hang on here. You're speculating about what might happen. I pointed out what did happen. You're dealing in conjecture, while I'm dealing in fact.

If you think it's relevant that some Democrats might bash Mrs. Owens (something I think would be contemptible), why is it not relevant that some on the right looked for reasons to bash the Khans?

Are you really comparing what Mrs. Owens did to what Khan did?

Well yeah. There's a pretty big gulf between

"I'm here to celebrate my husband and I'm not saying anything pro or against anyone"

and

"Hey, look at me.......I think that guy over there sucks and my candidate is awesome".

Can you really not distinguish how the latter completely removes your Teflon?
Like I said, it wouldn't be justified for people to find some trumped up reason to bash Mrs. Owens even if she spoke publicly in favor of Trump.

Well sorry, bro. I haven't been able to follow intently the entire thread. Condescension noted, however. I'll assume it was poor analogy and carry on with my day.

ETA: And I was right.

I didn't say it wasn't relevant- that was shitty too imo.

Where does this worthless POS work, anyway? I hope he loses his job over this. That is positively reprehensible.

That tweet is just really ugly. And I have nothing but respect for that woman and her courage.

That being said, politicians on both sides have always made liberal use of this tactic. Our last president also used this tactic quite often. Let's not pretend this is breaking new ground or anything. Fact is...we like it when our guys do it and we hate it when the other guys do it.

He was Seal Team 6 (DEVGRU). They are the special CT unit and I don't think the "East/West" thing really applies to them.

Except this is wrong.

Having a tragedy in your life isn't a permanent layer of Teflon. Only fricking liberals think that shite. They use it for all their "civil rights icons".

No. If you enter the political fray, then, you enter it.

Standing there in remembrance of her husband and having Democrats show their arse is what it is.

Deflection ain't gonna work. Sorry.

Of course Trump used her. And of course she used Trump and the opportunity he allowed to honor her brave husband in front of the President, the United States Congress, and the millions of people tuning in. All relationships are symbiotic; otherwise they wouldn't be relationships. Both sides get something. When one side feels like what they are getting is not enough, the relationship ceases.

But the word "used" obviously have a negatitobe connotation and it was a very poor decision to make that tweet.

Appears there is some justice in this world...

Grilo’s LinkedIn page says he works as a principal for the Chicago-based Liberty Advisor Group. But as of Wednesday morning, Grilo’s profile page on the site had been deleted, and the company later confirmed that an employee had sent what they called "an offensive and inappropriate tweet" regarding the Gold Star family.

In a statement, the company said that while the message was from his personal account, "his comments were inconsistent with the Company's values."

"Regardless of whether the comments in the tweet were intended to cause the hurt and anger that they ultimately generated, they were unacceptable to us, and the individual who issued the tweet is no longer affiliated with Liberty," the statement said.

I'm honestly surprised by this, especially in Chicago...
