How did the DEA know about the purchase? Credit card transactions, wire taps? Please tell me they have this garden shop under surveillance.

I'm still curious if they had a warrant in order to obtain his electricity bills. If not and the company gave it out, the home owner should sue

Don't need a warrant. A subpoena would be used to get that info.

Sorry, subpoena... I'd like to know whether the popo had one. Or if the police called up the electricity company and said "Give it to us or else"

Seeing that a subpoena takes all of 2 minutes to type and fax....I would guess they had one.

My point is, they would have to present enough probable cause to get a judge to sign off on it... Someone buying a 16oz bag of fertilizer is enough for a judge to authorize that?

Thats fricking scary

God broke the law by populating the Earth with cannabis.

And God said, Let the earth put forth grass, herbs yielding seed, and fruit-trees bearing fruit after their kind, wherein is the seed thereof, upon the earth: and it was so.

And God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for food.

In short, God gave us schwag, while sensimilla is trefah.

About 10 years ago my brother and his wife bought a very nice house in the Atlanta area at a very good price because it had previously been used for marijuana production. How was the operation caught? The electric company saw that the power usage there was out of line with the rest of the neighborhood and alerted the authorities.

This happened to us. frick the DEA and Law Enforcement who do this shite. We got a 2:00 a.m. visit.

And we have a winner...

quote:

In the search warrant application, a Braidwood, Ill., police officer assigned to the DEA, Donn Kaminski, wrote that he had observed Kirking exit the garden store "carrying a green plastic bag containing unknown items." Kaminski stated he had "previously conducted numerous investigations that involved the surveillance of Midwest Hydroganics and persons purchasing items at Midwest Hydroganics, which has led to the arrest of suspects for production of cannabis sativa plants and production of cannabis."

So, you had a pot farm or just an out of whack electrical use load for some other reason?

Rex, why do you feel that you must defend the DEA? Think about this, let's say you come to the DEA's "attention" because you purchased cold medicine that can be used to make meth. As a result ONLY of that innocent purchase an agent rifles through your trash and deems you to be a meth producer because "you're obviously trying very hard to hide the fact that you're a drug producer" since he can't find anything in your trash.

So, just like this person who purchased fertilizer (a perfectly legal transaction), you get targeted for also participating in a perfectly legal transaction.

Again, explain why you feel the need to defend the DEA here?

When they kick at your front door
How you gonna come?
With your hands on your head
Or on the trigger of your gun

When the law break in
How you gonna go?
Shot down on the pavement
Or waiting in death row
