Thank God somebody gets it. Common Core is just a set of standards that need to be met. How is that a bad thing especially in Louisiana?

Way too much variances allowed. It was presented as Math and Language only. But school districts are using it to sneak in things like the holocaust thing in California under critical thinking. What's to prevent that from happening again. And before you start the superabundant of schools knew of it and said there were no complaints. Which turned out to be a big lie.

So whats the rush again?

UPDATE
Lawsuit filed against Jindal by parents, teachers and a charter school

Added this in first post, but might be useful here too.

Variances? I thought individual local control was a good thing. The local district controls its own curriculum. What's to prevent your school district from using the Holocaust discussion in a high school class now? In theory, nothing. In reality, they know the parents will drop the hammer on them. And should. But that Holocaust exercise had exactly zero to do with Common Core. It would have happened there with Common Core or without it. If you want to prevent things like that from happening, stay involved in your local school district.

Then why did they say it was. By they, I mean the superintendent that ok'd the books that used it. He said it was part of COMMON CORES CRITICAL THINKING REQUIREMENT You guys keeps saying CC is only about Math and Language. The evidence says otherwise.

I'd need a link to that statement. Unless you're saying Common Core requires critical thinking and this was a critical thinking exercise. Then I don't need a link.

I just searched 'common core test contracts' and this was at the top of the list for New Mexico.

as much as $900 million over four years

You can read and search and draw your own conclusions.

I bet you Jindal really wants that judge to overturn his executive order. That will get him out of this mess and he will be able to say he put through CC if that helps him on the stump and he will be able to say he fought CC if that helps him on the stump.

He really doesn't care if we use the CC test or not. If he did he would have handled it in the legislative session.

You really think any governor does this stuff on his own. He doesn't trust his own guys.

Uhh...not sure what in the hell that's supposed to mean. If he doesn't trust his own guys, then he's an idiot for hiring them; and while I'm not a Jindal fan, I would never call him an idiot.

Teepell gave the instructions on how the 4th Floor proceeded with the CC bills, and the inaction spoke volumes.
