socialistic countries have a fricking amazing track record.

As do countries where wealth has all been concentrated at the top.

Something tells me there's some middle ground in there somewhere.

Would you say more Democrats and liberal owned companies own most wealth in the US?

They can offer their money for wealth redistribution if they want.

Google, Microsoft, Oracle, and Amazon has over $600B offshore hidden away from tax liability. These left leaning entities don't even pay their "fair share". That seems very much against their beliefs.

Americas standard of living has jumped leaps and bounds despite more and more wealth concentration.

Standards of living dont behave like that in socialist countries.

I don't agree with this. So let me get this straight, you would assign responsibility for the defense of all the countries to one union....the North American Union? That's assigning a lot of responsibility to one entity.

But I agree this is all wishful thinking. The current union (such as it is) will never breakup and we will continue to move towards a socialist marxist union. Ultimately the People will simply demand it. I see another Venuzuelan debacle in the making here in our once great Constitutional Republic of America.

We are witnessing what our Founding Fathers feared the most and warned us about.......a runaway intrusive central federal government drunk on power.

Have you read "The Fourth Turning", Dan? These scenarios of collapse and reboot are cyclical, and indeed painful in many instances; the historical record is very clear. This current one has to potential to be extraordinarily painful. Generally, the more painful the experience, the more power Humans gain from it.

Enjoy the tea...but mentally prepare to drink ditchwater. Just in case.

I agree, the big question is what do those of us who are conservative do about it? I'll be honest, the only thing really keeping me here in the U.S. is family. I'm not married, I don't have any children, not a big friend network. I own a small townhome and that's it.

My suggestion to you is to get married, have kids, make friends, turn off the news, and enjoy your life. Or, if you're not the marrying type, make friends and get some goals worth living for. You only get one shot at it. Get off this website if its holding you back. Make a life for yourself. America is a great country. You're planning on leaving in 15-20 years when your parents die and you're in your 50s. That means you're in your 30s. Get busy living.

With each paying an equal share. If a country doesn't agree than they are more than free to pay for their own defense.

I would say a NAU is necessary though, that way Mountain West America doesn't have enemies at its door step because West Coast America is a bunch of pacifists and surrendered the minutes enemy forces were in visual range.

What's stopping any U.S. citizen from acquiring his/ her own wealth?

I guess in a country of 320 million people, where 160 million of which have an IQ below 100, our system allows the more cunning to prey on the less.

It's a dog eat dog system, and the big dogs finna eat.

Ultimately it's about education. But in our system there is no incentive to have the masses well educated. It's best to have an educated elite that can take advantage of the ignorant, and thus concentrate wealth. You gotta keep the masses satiated with bread and circuses (or in our case, beer and football), so they don't upset the system.

I guess I could throw your earlier post to me back in your face.

So you'd be against hordes of generally lower IQ immigrants rushing across our border, then?
