So you equate not wanting to allow a cop killer to speak at a college with not allowing him to be productive in other pursuits?

Seriously? You can't see why a reformed cop killer giving a commencement speech from prison would not have the audience compelled?

I would say that the world has tons of non-murderers who could deliver an inspirational message. Why pick a thug who has killed, and wrecked families.

Further, why this murderer? Why not OJ? Was Manson busy? Van der Sloat?

What makes you think he's reformed?

Again, you keep referencing this narrative, but I'm not sure the word "reform" means what you think it means.

He's not reformed. He doesn't admit to the crime. What's to reform from if you claim you did nothing?

Stories of redemption can be very inspiring, IMO.

How can you reform when you don't even admit to it?

He's sharing his story...if you won't allow that then what else is there?

I think non murderers are more compelling.

Because liberals have sympathy for criminals, especially cop killers.

I read his story and was wrong about him being reformed. At any rate its a non story since the kids at the school choose their own commencement speakers.

I don't like Hitler, but Mein Kempf is still an interesting read, not that I agree with it.

There are many notorious individuals who's lives are interesting to study or read about, but I wouldn't want them speaking at my commencement.

And they have no sympathy or respect at all for people like Ayaan Hirsi Ali, whose invitation to speak at the Brandeis commencement was revoked because she was too anti-Muslim.

So to recap: Liberals will not allow law-abiding people who are critical of murderous Muslims speak at their commencements. However, Liberals will proudly let an actual, convicted, cop-killing Muslim "tell his story" at their commencement.

As the kids on the internets say: SMFH.

I'm sure these are the same types who would storm out of a classroom when presented with the benefits of Free Market Capitalism, the Founding Fathers, and the force for good-overall, that the US has been for the world.

This isn't the first school to "honor" him. And the Cop's widow has to go through this over and over again.
