I'm not sure about that but I can promise you it made me question his motives. As I watched him I sat wondering what it was about our country that made him so upset. He has a good job, we have excellent benefits including health and 401K.

I wondered what had happened in his life or what had he seen to make him feel the need to not stand for the pledge. Perhaps that was his mission, just to have others ask those questions of themselves.

Or maybe he had a boner and didn't want people to see it?

I have lived in rural America all my life and this is not even close to common. The only place I can think of in which over 100 people would gather in a room and do this is a school gym 45 years ago.

You're also trying a little too hard to sell this fable.

Damned this is unreal. Tell you what, next time we meet I'll record it and post it up. I'm laughing my arse off at you folks who can fathom that this actually still happens. I am starting to believe though that we may be the ONLY company that still does it.

yep, that's rational. i agree he should stand. just posing the question, bc if i worked for a mooselimb and got fired for not respecting their god... i'm guessing i'd be pretty mad.

that being said, that is exactly why i'd never visit or live in a country where my beliefs might get me killed.

Derrick, there's no way he loses his job. We don't do that type of stuff. Hell man, we actually have a HR person and everything to go along with running water and lights in the building.

I was at a a HS football game in Ascension a few weeks ago. Folks sitting 20 feet from me sat. KNow what I did when I noticed? I paid it no attention. It had zero negative effect. Same thing next game. .

Where I'm from, before we do ANYTHING, it's considered strange NOT to have the pledge and prayer.

So where exactly are you from?

I'm as patriotic as anyone and respect my country and my flag and I'm going to say we've got another one in this thread with his pants ablaze.

this board is filled with people that have a good job, excellent benefits including health and 401k that were extremely upset during the obama administration. many still are

but now it's a single aa that didn't stand up for your company's morning exercises that's the problem?

Because it's going to be several months before we have another full staff meeting, if I get the CEO to go on camera and say that we pray and say the pledge before meetings, will this put the blaze out?

I was one of those people but I continued to stand for the NA and the pledge.

Full staff meetings aren't held but about 4 times a year. Our BOD is in this week and that was the reason for the meeting today. However I will be more than happy to video the next one we have.

I guess just like I took it for granted that lots of organizations did this, it appears we may be the only one that still does.
