Do you really want a press corp that only prints positive articles about the President? Why not just get rid of the 1st amendment and set up state run media. Works for North Korea.

Nah...he's just playing the fools. Drag a stick across the bars of the monkey cage and watch them howl and fling poo.

Didn't Obama bar the Press from a Press award ceremony in the WH once?

Something about this does not sound right, because the Daily Briefing was not held today. If it was a ceremony then there is precedent.

Selective memory is real. You really think that Obama got 100% positive coverage? Maybe he just wasn't a whiny little bitch about it when he was criticized.

I want a press corp that is not actively working for one party for the last half a century. But maybe that's too much to ask.

Why are you celebrating this? It goes to defy everything that the conservatives have stood for. Let the press kill the messenger not the government.

The Trump fanboys here abandoned principle a long time ago.

CNN's spot should be given to conservativetreehouse.com. Replace the NYT with World Net Daily

Who was the last president to bar major news outlets from a press briefing?

Oh right. No one.

Anyone who thinks this is a good thing or a smart move is a fool.
Since they seem inclined to fabricate their stories out of thin air, what is the problem with them not being there?

If they were am objective media I'd agree with you.

They aren't, so I don't.

The OP conveniently leaves out that ABC, CBS, AP, TIME, NBC, MSNBC, and Fox were all allowed in

They know exactly what they are doing and know that CNN isn't going to stop. That's not what they want.

It's time to stop this charade that Trump and his team have some grand mastery of manipulating the media. Sure, there is some manipulating going on, but this particular instance is pure spite.

Yeah, Obama refused access to Fox News and the Washington Post for "irresponsible journalism". But of course we call Trump the next Kim Jong Il

The government is under no obligation to treat The New York Times any different than a weekly newspaper from Idaho. There is nothing that makes CNN any more legitimate, from a legal perspective, than a cable access news show in Louisiana.

Bannon could revoke every White House press pass and give them to small local TV and print outlets from around the country.

Or he could just cancel the daily briefing completely and ban all media from the White House.

These things are all tradition and not required by law.

ALL press functions exclude media, just by reason of space. Excluding one outlet vs another is not censorship.

So when did the Obama admin exclude Fox from a general gathering of the credentialed pool again?
