The Trump White House said the bill contained "a number of clearly unconstitutional provisions." He is right. Yet he signed it. The juxtaposition seems odd.

I think what he's saying is he reserves right to challenge elements of the thing at some point. IMO the necessary path there would be via veto.

Probably because he doesn't want to make a scene out of this and the last thing he needs is a sanctions fight with congress when he's still dealing with tax reform and healthcare.

Or just wait for Congress to sue him over lack of enforcement or lifting the sanctions without Congress approval and he can argue those provisions are unconstitutional and SCOTUS is likely to agree.

45 had 10 days to sign it or get overridden ... period. Not even his decision whether it would pass or not. He can belly ache about it to Putin.

It's also not even Congress decision over whether it gets enforced or not.

Not having control of the executive branch is quite a bitch huh?

Wow CNN/Dems/Libs/SWJ - so that is what it looks like to compromise on a bill!! They will all have some flaws but need to move this country in the right direction.

So CNN reported exactly what happened - that Trump signed a bill despite some flaws. What is your point here?

he had no option otherwise regardless of what he thought of the bill.

Actually he could have vetoed the bill and made congress override the veto

People are already pissed enough at Congress failing to pass healthcare reform and already are waffling on tax cuts. Just imagine what will happen when they go after Trump for not enforcing their grandstanding bullshite that does nothing to improve the lives of everyday americans.

Congress would look really shitty in that scenario and it's a good bet that Congress will just ignore Trump not enforcing it. They already forced Trump to contradict his stances after boxing him in and that's enough for them.

This bill is nothing more than PR and grandstanding.

wtf are you talking about...he signed it because it passed 419-3, aka a veto proof majority, he had no option otherwise regardless of what he thought of the bill.

the only reason he said 'flawed' was because it hurt Russia, which Trump actually cares more about than the USofA

You really think he cares more about Russia than the US?

Because CNN reports it with implications that it is somehow nefarious for him to do so. Just like they do with everything else
in plain language, everything is factual. There might be bias in some part of the story, but you can't ask a news report to match your tone as well as facts.
