If Obamacare has a religious exception, shouldn't shirt printing as well?

Same opinion I've always had, I think most of these ordinances are bullshite. That includes zoning laws, blue laws, hrc laws. But if a community wants to pass stupid laws, let them pass them. Not my problem.
Agreed.

As I said, it must be in accordance with local or state laws. This was in accordance is local laws. Every conservative believes allowing local rule. That's what this is.
So what is everyone complaining about? Lexington law. Lexington issue. Lexington problem.
Unless you live in Lexington, it's none of your concern. If you do, then change the law.
End of story
Glad that this is a local issue-yes.
However, moving it to a local level does not stop it from being a bad idea. Part of the best part about having laws at a state and local level is getting to "comparison shop" to see what works and what doesn't; what is a good idea and what isn't. This is a bad idea. Existing outside of Baton Rouge does not exempt it from criticism.
However even beyond that, local government cannot impede constitutional rights. IF (and this is a legal question not a normative one) this violates the constitution, then being local doesn't make them immune.
However this is all a (really good) dodge on your part. What do you think of the ordinance? Do you think it is a good idea when implemented/interpreted like this? Would you want it for where you lived?

It's not a dodge at all.
I live in Lafayette. It pisses me off that the idiot christian conservatives in this parish voted against gambling while every parish around us has gambling. We lost a race track because of these idiots as well as a lot of tax dollars.
It pisses me off that Lafayette closes bars at 2 a.m.
All of this bullshite finds its roots in christian beliefs. So I have to live with your stupid beliefs. And this idiot christian in Lexington has to live with Lexington's beliefs.
Or move out.

BTW, if this is what it's come to, I'd take the order, take the money, have some mechanical issues while making the shirts and have to refund the money when we didn't meet the deadline.
Sorry.
I don't get it.
Clearly there are hundreds of accessible shirt printers for Gay Pride Week. Clearly there are plenty of gay-owned shops that would love the business.
If the issue was forced on someone against their will under those circumstances, the purchaser would have to be concerned about anything from "unexpected" mechanical issues, to lost orders, to an ill-timed worker strike accounting for nondelivery. The company might issue a sweeping feaux apology, but the purchaser would be the one left out in the cold.

Honestly, I don't know who the bigger idiots are... the people who insist on this printer or the printer...
or the idiots in this thread getting upset about something that doesn't concern them.

I am sure if you want that shirt bad enough you can get it made.
But that's different from making a black-owned/operated company print it for you under penalty of law, now, isn't it?

Make some spelling error, too.

From the legal ruling:
"Mr. Adamson offered to give Mr. Lowe the name of another company that would honor the initial price quote of Mr. Carter on behalf of the Respondent and print the t-shirts. Mr. Lowe declined."
Surprise, surprise ...

Both the customer and the company are being retards.

Agreed. People should be allowed to be so without state involvement.

I am actually glad this story is out there (along with the cake and photographer stories). This should be sufficient to scuttle any bullshite efforts by the BR Metro Council for their "fairness" ordinance.

You've never been concerned about something that really doesn't have any impact on your life?

Yeah. What kind of idiot cares about things that don't affect their life?

I think I'm going to start holding people who throw out that silly argument to that standard at all times. It will be fun.
