DOJ probably consulted with the Committee on charges. They will prosecute the case and he will be convicted by a DC jury. That’s a slam dunk.

DOJ almost never acts on congressional referrals, especially in political cases.

Nothing this committee does is relevant to anything whatsoever beyond cable news bullshite.

If the DOJ thought that Trump had committed an act of insurrection, do they really need Congress to recommend they prosecute. They have their own investigative authority. Ridiculous.

Hold tight for the sweet irony........

The committee (not me) has charged him with aiding an insurrection. We all know that's crap, but they have done it. IMO, aiding an insurrection is treasonous. I'm not a lawyer so my opinion doesn't count.

You keep saying you're not a lawyer but you lack even the basic comprehension to understand what this committee is/was capable of.

I said from the outset that this road they are going down is a very dangerous one. While I hate Trump, I think this is setting up for some potentially negative reactions. Like civil war caliber reactions.

I'd love to hear why you hate Trump so much but that's for another thread.

Only people who have no experience at all with litigation think discovery is important or something that will reveal anything not already known in this type of case.

Why? It wouldn’t be relevant to his defense.

All he has to do is get access to the metric shite-ton of video not made available to the public and let the chips fall.

Do you dipshits NOT understand that if they had anything on Trump he would've already been in year two of his jail sentence. No person has EVER shaken up the swamp like this glorious orange bastard. They keep trying to get him and it all comes up clean. You'd think you dumb fricks would've learned by now.

I do. That’s why nothing this committee says or does matters.

DOJ will decide whether to bring charges, and it’s decision will not rely on anything this committee says or does.

muh discovery is always a Lucy and the football with the fringe.

it does seem tho as if Trump played ball w/ Kev as Speaker... because the J6 committee's secret Adam Schiff for brains plan: seems to be going after Trump's cabinet throwing them in solitary until they compose for them.

(They did this to Flynn, Stone, Manafort, and leg shackled a Trump cabinet attorney or two or three--took My Pillowman's phone at Hardee's--don't deny it)

Kev will stop the foolishness no one else will...

BTW: How well do you know Bill Frist? Is the Obama Iran deal nuanced with greatness?

I'm very patient.

Tell ya what, lets let a DC jury of Trumps peers figure this out.

That would require you losers to actually charge him. Odd that 6 years later, you're still just sitting here holding your dick waiting.

Well damn. Because I was gonna say only those with litigation experience would understand the wide assortment of possibilities and avenues that the discovery process often yields. You don’t think there’s any discoverable materials and perhaps even possibly depositions lingering about out there that the government side would very much dislike being disclosed to the heretofore hypothetical Trump side?

That would be a super duper fair process.

I tell you what, hotshot. Let Trump have access to all 14K hours of Capitol footage then let's dance.
