Are you not aware of what we did to NK during the Korean War? We obliterated the entire country!

Nope.

Why not try some biochemical warfare on NK?

North Korean issues threats to U.S. & Guam, calling ICBM test "meaningful prelude to restrain Guam, the outpost of invasion in the Pacific"
Never thought I would hear that phrase TBH.

It's perplexing that they choose Guam to focus on. We have assets all over the region and planet that can hit them, why Guam specifically?

So they can test one of these things in open water?

can the president do that or is that an act of congress?

Emergency response is the President's. A full formal declaration of war goes to Congress.

They have so many troops that we would be hard pressed to slow them down. Early on at least.

You'd have to consider tactical nukes.

Uhhh... if China & Russia don't intervene we've got bigger problems than decisions. One would need to presume that NK is a thermonuclear proxy war pawn for China & Russia. Is global war on the horizon?

Let's revisit a few things:

1) Russia's uranium deal. Traitor Hillary.
2) Russia has our Intel. Bathroom servers.
3) Three year escalation in Russian jets buzzing our ships. Traitor Hussein.
4) China's strategic island building. Traitor Hussein.
5) Meaningless sanctions against bad leaders. Worthless UN.
6) GITMO releases.
7) Pallets of cash to Iran.
8) 8 years of Hussein weakening our military. Sequestration.
9) Open US borders. No assimilation required.
10) Deeply divided US citizenry on every domestic front.
11) Civil unrest like we haven't seen in 50 years.
12) on & on & on....

From a simplistic overview... sure seems that Democrats in charge ensured an accelerated run to US weakness. Now, President Trump is attempting to reverse said weakness... and international bad actors have stepped up their provocations. Why not... America is on her knees like never before. Our Millennial snowflakes better get tough, ASAP!

Honestly, the time to do something about all of this was before he got a thermonuclear device. I guess we just have to live with it now.

And, get ready for Iran, because they cooperate with Kim, so his advancements become their advancements. My best guess is the money we gave to Iran helped fund this new breakthrough in N. Korea.

Appeasement usually has consequences greater than war - as you often have to fight the war, anyway, with a stronger opponent.

This is the only part of what you said I agree with, we do not have to accept this but we do have to out think them and China, this I believe we will do

The president probably still has authorization from the original Korean war. Not sure he needs authorizatiom for a couple of reasons...

what do you think our response will be?

Will be = whine and cry at the U.N.
Should be = total annihilation and one dead FLUF
