Who was actually impacted by the oil?
Both bp, Jindal and the Fed Government are at fault.
bp caused the spill, Jindal overreacted, the Fed slowed down the oil industry.

You mean to tell me tons of people in Louisiana didn't claim that they lost business due to the oil spill, when in reality they weren't affected at all, but they claimed anyway?
People got paid. They used BP, and enough is enough.

If only the world could be so simple. It cannot. People that want to bring claims have every right to do so; it is up to the courts to decide upon the validity of those claims.

Who owns the courts?

The spill has been a big ole money and power grab:
1) BP was, IMHO, stupid to agree to the economic and business loss settlement they agreed too and now have second thoughts about so I do not fault those businesses that claim.
2) BP did throw billions at politicians and local governments that didn't deserve anything IMHO
3) Jindal tried to make political hay out of the spill and I feel somehow is making a lot of money. Who can forget his idiotic construction of the sand berms that cost hundreds of millions?? That was nothing but a funneling of money to Shaw and a photo op for Jindal. Who can forget he hired a big ole Texas trial lawyer to represent the state? How much do you think that guy is going to funnel to the Jindal pac or campaign or the day? Oh yeah--Gibson Dunn who now represents BP hired Jindal's brother.
4) I agree the fresh water diversions harmed the oyster beds AND more fresh water diversions should be allowed if it means creation of more land along the lower Mississippi.

"That's kind of like an arsonist blaming the fire department for the water damage to the house," he said.
