It is as long as you aren't regularly exchanging bodily fluids with an infected individual.

You agree it is hard to contract based on the above. Then what kind of body fluids was the nurse who contracted the disease regularly exchanging with Duncan in order for her to get sick?

Sir at your age your biggest worry should be falling down and breaking a hip. Or a heart attack. Both are 100,000 times more likely than the Ebola catching you.

Anyone following this should know that regardless of the chance of him actually being infected, it's way too fast for him to show symptoms.

No, it's not.

Symptoms may appear anywhere from 2 to 21 days after exposure to Ebola, but the average is 8 to 10 days.

According to the ignorant talk radio guys, wasn't this supposed to happen 6 months ago. Remember all of those crazy new diseases that these folks were bringing us.

Exchange of bodily fluids doesn't have to be "regular". And if you don't know what bodily fluids pass between a nurse and a patient, you've never been to a hospital.

You need to tell that to RK. I didn't make that accusation.

I'm 62. I've been to plenty of hospitals. So how did the nurse get the infection you reckon?

We don't know how many deaths in Latin America.

We have more than 'one whole death' outside of Africa. Try to keep up.

Right.

And the window is at less than 4 days now.

And her viral load would have been incredibly small right when she first got symptomatic, so he would trend to the longer time rather than the shorter one if he was infected.

So unless she brought home a blood soaked rag from Duncan, it's a huge red flag to think that you would have two generations of transmission occur so close to each other chronologically.

I'm caught up. No cases in Latin America and one death outside of Africa.

Name the person other than Duncan who has died.

Either name him or admit that Rush is a fool.

You have 60 seconds.

The Sudanese guy who died in Germany contracted the virus in Liberia, but his death was in Leipzig.

You know what? All these "experts" and such should put their money where there mouths are. Treat 100% of those infected @ CDC Atlanta and in the Washington, D.C. area.

If it's so safe and easy to contain, there should be no problem, right? Don't these people deserve the best care?

easily the best thing i've read today, anywhere ...

Needle stick/penetrative injury
Introducing the patients blood/saliva into her eye/mouth with a gloved hand while removing her equipment

These would be the most likely routes of infection for her.

Never heard of him.

But that's 2 now out of 4 billion. I think it's time to start panicking!

Jesus Christ, I was making a point given how many fluids these two likely exchanged. Of course it only requires on exposure just like HIV

This subject is way too serious to make silly Animal House references.

On a side note, I remember a few years ago you argued against the entire board after an LSU game was delayed bc of lightening strikes. You said the chance of injury was slight and this was all PC over protection govt interference.

And now you're all worried about Ebola!

Well ole Zach, the chance of your arse getting struck by lightening in tiger stadium in a lightening storm is a hell of a lot greater than the Ebola striking you.
