If he forced her to have an abortion then he would be a hypocrite. If he does all he can to help her and encourages her to do the right thing then he isn't a hypocrite.

Is he supposed to watch his daughter at every minute of the day? Teens make mistakes no matter what their parents taught them this is nothing new.

I'm sure that's the case, as hypocrisy is one of the necessary elements of Republicanism, but I wouldn't use this event to prove that point. Children are difficult things, and they don't always end up as one might plan.

I wouldn't vote for him in any event, but I rate this story a big giant PASS. And criticism of the child is definitely off limits.

I suspect Cassidy will use this as a way to prove his Christian bonafides. They will make it well known that they will keep the child and help her raise it. It will be interesting to know if the father will be a part of their lives if they will get married or engaged and they will make this known as well.

I agree that this should not be news but Cassidy did announce this so you can't blame the media on this one.

I suspect this will not be an issue in that Landrieu has nothing to gain by making this an issue but it wouldn't surprise me if other Republicans do a whisper campaign.
