Perhaps you don't understand how washington works.

As long as their side passes it, yes. This is what politics has become - a team sport. The details of the bill be damned, my side got it passed, so I can claim a win.

I do not agree with discussing this in private, but how soon you forget "We have to pass the bill to see what's in it" from Nancy Pelosi.

See I don't like any of the secrecy, but the only time you don't seem to like it is when your handlers tell you not to like it.

Letting dems in only guarantees chaos and obstruction. The second step is to accept the fact that you screwed yourself out of a seat at the table when you went scorched earth on the aca.

That's the truth, you know.

Not to many of us...there was much disagreement on the House version. I didn't like it at all, and I don't like 13 people putting this together behind closed doors. I do not want another crap piece of legislation passed the way ACA was.

I get why they do it. If you let just one democrat into the process they will do everything in their power to undermine it. They will take any individual cut no matter how necessary or how small and leak it to the Washington Post to hammer republicans. That is the only thing they are interested in.

Not that the facts matter, but ACA was publicly debated 45 times on the Senate floor. The 2 situations aren't even remotely close.

Nothing's changed. That's the fricking point! "Just like Obamacare" is my favorite new line here

Once again, the point is sailing right over your pussy hat wearing head. Let me try once more to unpack this for you.

Republicans were ready to debate healthcare and dems completely shut them out, only negotiating among themselves (stupak, nelson, etc). Polling consistently showed that Americans opposed the bill, yet dems passed it anyway; and frankly it cost them the house, senate, and wh.

Fast forward to today, and dems have made it clear that they will 100% obstruct the Trump agenda, no matter what it is. The rhetoric puked forward during the acha debate reinforced this strategy.

Republicans don't need dem votes, and dems openly want to torpedo anything the Republicans put forward. Rigorous debate is happening between factions within the republican party and the public is solidly behind repeal. The mandate is clear: the people don't want your input and republicans don't need it. Furthermore, you have no real ides, just obstruction. So carry your arse to the back seat and deal with it.

The difference between now and then is, then you had a willing dance partner in reform and you ignored them. People wanted bipartisan debate and they didn't get it. Today, there is no willing partner and there is no public interest in dem ideas like universal healthcare.

Oh, I totally get that! The Dems lost that right when they decided to pass the ACA with no debate. I would like to see more than some moderate Reps making these decisions. I don't trust them either.

What, exactly is the D agenda for Healthcare?

How do they plan to fix immigration, jobs, trade, etc...?

When you look at that quote in context, you'll see why you're mistaken.

Rarely and I mean rarely do I ever agree with Old Hellen Yeller but when he says the ACA and the new on being hatched are bad we have found common ground

The aca had input and changes from republican senators.

Gop is trying to do the replacement without debate while preventing 60 votes from being needed. Aca needed 60. Aca was scored. Aca was considered in senate committee.

Aside from everything, the situation is identical.
