You are on vacation! If you were an employee of mine I would disable your network ID right now. (unless I really needed you to do something).

Enjoy!

Grrrl, you can help consolidate this thread by adding a link to your second post here. Might help clear up any confusion.

Also, anymore links you can find on the dad would be appreciated. Preferably from as mainstream or credible of sources as possible. I'm busy as hell the last few days and at least for the next week, so this thread really helps.

Well, I just heard on tv news that Chuck Hagel made the final decision to make the prisoner swap. Am I late to the party with this news?

Yeah, like THIS administration would let Hagel have the final word on anything.

Hagel's an idiot who was only put there because he used to have an "R" behind his name in the Senate, giving Obama cover to blame Republicans for whatever destruction is done to our military.

WTF is this? In what way is this idealistic, naive statement suppose to mean? That is so wrong on so many levels. When you join the military, you serve for your country, do your duty plain and simple, no questions asked. Do not question the decisions the armed forces, question the decisions of the polititions who send the armed forces to act on the politition's decisions. The armed forces of the US will go where their superior officers lead them, no questions asked.

I mean, in history, that hasn't always worked out so well.

Na mon. I am just checking in while I drink mai tais on the porch and listen to the waves. Kiddo is napping after a morning or fishing & snorkeling. I'm abusing the all inclusive bar. Hubs is in the sports bar playing poker for a little while.

Maybe I did't say clearly enough. My mistake.
If you are going to question someone's decision,
question the decisions of the polititions who send the armed forces into combat, not the armed forces.

Getting back to Bergdahl, this is a remarkably insightful article from Wednesday's Washington Post:

Well, has he been disciplined, fired or asked to resign because of it?

Then his boss, i.e. the guy who appointed him, is okay with it and ultimately responsible (He certainly seemed eager to rush out to the Rose Garden to trumpet this "achievement" when he thought it was going to be a positive.)

I assume some now missing/irretrievably lost emails can confirm or deny this?

President Obama is a narcissistic fame-whore? I'm shocked.
