Yeah I'm on record thinking Manafort was probably up to something with the Russkies, but I don't think it will be enough to bring Trump down. And I SURE don't think that Flynn tossing around the idea of cutting Gulen loose is going to move the needle.

Here's why this is bad: whether we want them there or not, there are American soldiers working with Kurds right now. It's not a good look to be a lickspittle for Erdogan, especially when we have a history of leaving the Kurds out to dry.

When you've got people on twitter like Jon Cooper doing polls on who will flip first.... I mean... come on... lots of chatter. Not just making sh*t up here. LOL

You know anything about Gulen and the charter schools? Knowing how much Flynn hates Muslims, he was probably just trying to get rid of Gulen more than helping Erdogan. Who knows. We can agree Flynn is a sketchy dude, but the Turkey stuff to me is a moot point because Trump already cut Flynn loose and it's pretty clear he was kind of going rogue with this.

However, reports today that Nunes was in the Flynn-Turkey meeting might help explain what happened with him last week.

From what I know of Gulen he's a fairly moderate Muslim. LINK

Gulen is a really, really fricking weird character. Seriously google "Gulen charter schools". Take 10 minutes and read about it. I have one of these schools in my neighborhood. It's a real thing.

I don't care if they're the Muslim version of Jehovah's Witnesses or whatever, being weird but tolerant would be an improvement over the garden-variety Islamist thuggery of Erdogan

i've been eye deep in my bowling league and didn't know this political board was even here. is this like a game of thrones? some of you guys are like movie actors!
-------------------------------------------------

out of interest i went to daily kos and found this:

f the President is under investigation, can he still issue pardons?

If so, everyone is going to skate.

As soon as charges are brought he is done, a president cannot continue if he is under indictment. We may see intelligence bring evidence forward that accomplishes just that. The squirelier Trump and his cabinet gets the closer we are.

Expect it to come quickly and without warning when it does.

Right.

Did Miller volunteer to appear in front of a Congressional Committee and subject himself to hostile questioning under oath? . . . . including questioning by Mr. Schiff?

Look LSU1NSEC, Page, Stone, and Manafort may each be guilty as all getout. But surely you would concede that volunteering for crossexamination is an odd way of manifesting it.

I mean a source Trump considers credible and has cited in the past called Flynn "in essence, the Russian spy in Trump’s midst."
