Straight from MSNBC!
It's no wonder why he purposefully omitted linking to his quote. It shows he's word parsing that preventing a fertilized egg from inplantation is NOT ending a pregnancy.

So, this thread is an example of just another lie by Rex.

He's starting to make me wish his mother had believed in abortion.....by any means.

What happens when scientists prove that a child can feel pain in the womb? Is it a war on all science or just certain areas specific to your cause.
There is no question a fetus, at midterm and beyond, feels pain.

Actually, it's not that the CC believes contraceptives are abortions.
Correct.
The Catholic POV is different than HL's btw.

And that's why the Church considers it an abortifacient.

A Supreme Court ruling that continues the Republican war on women AND its war on science. I can see why you're thrilled.

This war on women is such crap.

They pay for most birth controls, correct? Take the birth control, have responsible sex, and they shouldn't need their employer to cover plan B because of their irresponsibility.

Plan B should not be used as birth control.

Eta: And I'm catholic. I believe in preventative birth control.

Eh... he'll roll in here when this thread has dreopped a bit and say that he has never seen MSNBC nor read their website, claiming to have come up with that all on his own.

Whoa there. That kind of talk will get you put in the sane house. Don't want that.

I would have to say that the original premise from the OP has not been established as true. No supporting link has been provided.

The pills at issue, Plan B and Ella, do NOT work by blocking implantation. “These medications are there to prevent or delay ovulation. They don’t act after fertilization.”

Rex, Rex. I believe that you are a decent human being. But seriously? Is that honestly the gist of the argument? From your link (thank you for finally providing one);

quote:

Labels inside every box of morning-after pills, drugs widely used to prevent pregnancy after sex, say they may work by blocking fertilized eggs from implanting in a woman’s uterus. Respected medical authorities, including the National Institutes of Health and the Mayo Clinic, have said the same thing on their Web sites.

So, they labels themselves say they do what Hobby Lobby was concerned about.

quote:

But an examination by The New York Times has found that the federally approved labels and medical Web sites do not reflect what the science shows.

So, who is being dishonest? The federally approved labels or the NYT?

Come on Rex. Please.

Not true. Plan b does both. Don't take my word on it though.

WebMD
Depending upon where you are in your cycle, Plan B One-Step may work in one of these ways:

It may prevent or delay ovulation.
It may interfere with fertilization of an egg.
It is also possible that this type of emergency birth control prevents implantation of a fertilized egg in the uterus by altering its lining.

Well, the Fed Gov approved the labeling and what the frick else am I supposed to rely on?

After all, Fed Gov knows BEST when it come to my healthcare needs.

Why do you castigate the "Church" for believing something that the Fed Gov believes...and approves for labeling?

From your link:

quote:

The New York Times has found that the federally approved labels and medical Web sites do not reflect what the science shows.

quote:

The F.D.A. declined to discuss decisions about the effect on implantation or to say whether it would consider revising labels.

Yep...those sheeple just blindly follow the "Church".....wait...don't YOU advocate the same Fed Gov as decider of healhcare insurance laws and want Single Payer?

ridiculous
