Am I right to think that the GOP establishment isn't going to repeal ACA?

Looking at how it's going it seems to me that the lobbiests have paid off the establishment. Am I right in thinking it will never happen?

Trump has said multiple times they are going to repeal and replace the ACA

You are wrong to think any different.

The other option is to let it collapse on its own. Either way, it is going down. If you let it collapse on its own, Obama's legacy is completely shot to shite.

I'm almost convinced we should let them all own it. There is one person in D.C. that had absolutely nothing to do with passing the shite sandwich legislatsion. This person is also the one that is catching the most flak for trying to solve the issue.

If that is not lunacy in its finest form, I don't know what is. Re-elect no one going forward.

I don't think lobbyists ever wanted it back in 08 or 09. It was shoved down everyone's throat. I'm thinking the weight of taking insurance from ppl without a replacement plan has hit them. Scared to pull the rug on it. Plus, they may think they can use it against Trump in reelection...he said he'd repeal it day one and didn't. Even though it's the fault of Congress, they can try to blame him. I don't think that will work though.

Trump is the only reason repeal has a chance . GOP just gave lip service to repeal over the years to fire up its base.

You are correct being leery of R establishment types, who are largely the same as D establishment types.

This is likely going to get very ugly before any improvement is seen.

Buckle up.

You are correct...

It will only happen if Trump really gets in there and twists arms

Even then it will be really close

I suspect that the Establishment GOP types don't want to repeal it because they are afraid to do anything controversial that might cost them votes.

That's why they like the Executive Agencies do promulgate regs for anything that might be unpopular with any group.

Trump said the other day that his preference was to allow it to collapse on its own, but Congress prefers "repeal and replace," which is nothing but a campaign slogan which will never come to fruition.

Trump will be proven right and will get what he wants.

The dems will block any replacement that doesn't heavily involve the federal government, no matter how much sense it makes.

The dog finally caught up with the car and has no idea what to do now. You mean the 52 other times they voted to repeal it they didn't have a plan? Oooooooh that's right. It was all for show. Now there is no where to hide and the dog has turned and tucked his tail between his legs all they while trying not to piddle on himself.

Well duh This has been going on for several thousand years of human history.

As to the ACA it took years to get it passed so it may take a day or two to get it altered.

If it collapses on its own the GOP will get blamed because it happened on their watch. And the pain from that will be more widespread and more intense than a repeal.

Exactly.

Trump and Republicans ran on the idea they can better improve the healthcare system then their opponents and in a timely manner. So vote for them.

I think it would be foolish to just sit around for two years and do nothing and think it wouldn't eventually turn on them hard.

Though the way things are going, it seems like that is exactly what is going to happen except it won't be of their own willing strategy, but instead, paralysis brought on by no consensus ideas from the president on down that people will vote for and the president will get behind and champion.
