Anyone who doesn't understand why this is such a complex issue has never had to figure out billeting arrangements for male and female soldiers. Not only gender but rank has to be accounted for to some degree too. Too put it bluntly, women are sorry in the field because they create more drama than ten times their numbers in male SM's. The female barrack always is always the first to have fighting, EO complaints, shift-change issues, etc.

Ya'll just make military life in the field suck more. Multiply that with transgendered individuals that think they are even more special.

And don't think for one minute transgenders won't be looking out for each other regarding duties, decorations, promotions, etc. Or the fact that there will be a very real but unspoken quota system.

Much to my shame and that of my collegues, there was a F-4 pilot VN vet who transgendered himself in the 80s, and retired with United. He had the decency and decorum to do that after he separated from the USAF.

You experienced personal shame because someone else did something that was right for them? You say this was in the 1980's? Sounds to me like the pussification of America as you guys call it started quite some time ago.

I don't know why this should matter. If someone wants to fight and die for our country I don't care what gender they identify as. You shouldn't either.

A statement being as innocent like this is actually so fricking dangerous and naive when dealing with something that's not a social expeirement and is entirely dependent on combat readiness, no hesitation whatsoever, and no inappropriate fraternization.

You ask how this will affect entrance; the fact of letting transgendered people serve isn't a more than a PC overview since removing DADT. Upon these individuals trying to enlist (which I doubt there will be any) will be disqualified for other reasons.

Reasons such as; phsycalogical, medical (surgeries and prescribed medications) and the other thousands of things that can disqualify any other applicant. The point is they aren't going to change requirements just to be fair to a very small select group.

This may be the most coherent truthful post in the history of TD.
