Bin Laden has actually been quoted as to this being one of the points of 9/11.

And I think it's pre 9-11, or not long after.

Thank you

They aren't pushing for "rights", they are pushing for govt enforced acceptance.

Libs don't know who to pander to here. Psst, hey libs, black people can be rather "homophobic" too - what to do?

I mean frick - are you the only who is allowed to conjure hypothetical and speak of it as fact - or am I allowed to as well?

Or are the facts relevant at all?

The facts remain that leftists of your ilk wont give a shite about this type of anti-gay action because the perpetrators arent of a particular group you despise...ie white, conservative, christian etc.

Just look at your reaction in this thread proof of that fact. You reserve your bile for the evil posters of this information rather than the anti-gay bigotry in the OP

Not that this is anything new for progressives who claim to be for liberty for the oppressed, justice for the exploited, a voice for the poor unwashed and disenfranchised as if you are somehow much more caring and morally pure than the rest of society. In truth, you only use these lofty ideals as a means to punish your political enemies. Far from being so altruistic, you are no better than evil men you pretend to abhor.

My first brush with this reality was during the Clinton presidency when the NOW gang suddenly became mute while the "bimbo patrol" was used to silence and intimidate the hordes of "trailer trash" accusing our first black president. Feminist didnt care...not because of the accusations but because of who was being accused.

Whatever moral high ground the left had was lost a long time ago and it's only gotten more comical since.

I've often wondered why liberals in this country often find themselves willful defenders of openly brutal and oppressive regimes whether it be communist dictatorships or radical middle-eastern religious sects...our history is replete with various examples of this phenomenon. The only thing that seems to remain constant is that these entities are violently anti-american. It seems that no matter how vile someone is, as long as they hate the "gleaming city on the hill" then that's reason enough.

Your point is null and void since - as I've pointed out - Christians would not have done this. They would have insisted it was their right to display or not display whatever God tells them to display or not display on their cabs and continued to drive to the airport - and when some guy carrying a gun made them stop - they would have whined straight to FOX News.

Sounds an awful lot like you're calling out an entire group of people over a hypothetical reaction to a hypothetical situation, just a few posts after you attacked someone else for doing the same to you. That is the height of hypocrisy.

Actually, I'm giving you too much credit there. You are asserting that Christians "would have" insisted on driving the cabs without the offending ads. I'm going to take a wild guess and say there are at least one or two Christian cab drivers in Cleveland. Since they're not reacting in the manner you claim, your point is provably false.

Shouldn't they be required to do so as a part of their jobs just like business owners are having to do for the Hershey bar crowd or seek employment elsewhere for non-compliance to the employers decisions on what goes on the cabs?

The ideal solution is to maximize personal freedom:

- The cab company should have the right to refuse any advertiser, or any ad even if they accept other ads from the same advertiser

- The cabbie should have the right to refuse to drive any cab with an ad he or she finds offensive

- The cab company should have the right to choose how to handle those cabbies however it wants, whether that be accommodating the cabbie, allowing the cabbie to take unpaid time off, or firing the cabbie

As a Christian Socialist, I believe that the first step would be to encourage Moslems to convert to Christianity. I would prefer that the church they join be either the liberal ELCA or the Roman Catholic Church.

The worst thing would be for Moslems to become fundamentalists or evangelical conservative Christians.

I do believe that cab drivers should be either suspended or fired for refusing to drive cabs with the advertisements on them.

What if a female cab driver doesn't want to drive a cab with a Hustler Club ad? That's demeaning to women and a reasonable person would say it constitutes a hostile work environment.

What if David Duke ran for office again and put ads on a cab? Would you fire a black cab driver for refusing to drive that cab?

You have no idea what you're talking about. Some gays don't believe in forcing non-discrimination laws into the private business sector. Some do.

Most just want a legally recognized marriage and that's it.

Perhaps the gays and Muslims should have a big, bloody war of attrition at a neutral site ... say, Eastern Russia (Siberian region) ... with the gay Muslims, well, they can either pick a side or work both sides by shouting things like "Allah Akbar ... Heeeeeyyyyyyy!"

Just a thought ... might help them work this all out regarding taxi-bumper stickers and such.

I'm glad these men stood up for their convictions. Americans should have the right to refuse to do anything they wish. I do wish Christians could do the same without being accused of discrimination. The Christian flower and cake shop owners who wished not to support gay weddings by choosing not to serve such activities should also be allowed to make this choice without the threat of lawsuits or public slander perpetrated by the liberal media.

I'm glad there are some who are taking the liberal media to task on this issue. I hope they don't cross the line into liberalism by doing so. These cab drivers should have the right to object to this activity for religious reasons.

Gays versus Muslims - in America.

The irresistible force has met the immoveable object. It was only a matter of time.

It's on. It's definitely on.

If the Muslim men owned the cab company, it would be a different matter and more like the case of the Colorado bakers and the photographer. Since they don't, the cases shouldn't be compared.
