Anyone know what the total number of pumps are in the relevant area? 16 out of 437 wouldn't be that bad, but 16 out of 18 would be a problem Can anyone put the number in perspective?

These are not pumps that work all the time and need to be out periodically for maintenance. These are pumps that are only needed during flooding.
Even one not working should mean multiple firings.

There are 121 total pumps if I'm not mistaken. A few of them only need to be turned on during storms that produce surge. With 16 down, there were parts of the city operating at ~50% capacity.

So am I correct in assuming these pumps are only used during flooding, so they have been sitting there for years and when they are finally needed, they failed?
From what I can understand , these pumps are zonal, but they are designed to kick on when more than 2 inches in an hour. So they get used a lot ....in reality. I'm guessing when all is said and done , that the turbine fire from yesterday, was not jus tyesterday and the turbines that power the pumps have been more of an issue than the pumps themselves and that the wiring in the turbines are screwed and poorly maintained

DAMN YOU ELECTRICITY COMPANY!
Ya see... When you're broke, and you spend your money on stupid arse shite (ie statue removal) instead of important shite (ie pumps) you deserve to be ridiculed and talked down to for your stupid decisions.
You don't think like Prog filth.
See, you can still buy the weed AND legally extort someone else's money to pay your bills!
Duh
