I bet Trump would get behind a high speed rail along the east coast.

Link added. It's on his website.

I didn't see anything about a trillion dollars. I did see a CNN story where they said that would be the cost to fix all roads and bridges in the country. So are you pulling from his website or are you pulling from CNN?

I don't support the federal government having 1 trillion dollars.
But if it does have 1 trillion dollars, I support spending it on infrastructure.

1. Yes. Our infrastructure is falling apart. The number of dangerous bridges in the US in rapidly increasing. However, I don't support without decreases in spending / increased taxes to completely cover the infrastructure.
2.Nope. I don't see Republicans wanting to add 1 trillion to the deficit and I don't see them willing to cut anything or increase taxes.
3.I imagine he wants to put folks to work and thinks we need to get moving on fixing our decrepit infrastructure. I just don't see him getting any help from Congress. They have their own pet projects and they aren't going to cut spending to fund his plan.

Its important to note that some of this money will come from the private sector before all the #nevertrump clowns start bitching about debt.

Our infrastructure is a mess but he should just use the almost $1 trillion baked into the yearly budget from the stimulus.
Thanks Obama (and baseline budgeting)

Let's find $2 trillion in waste (cuts) and throw it at NASA, infrastructure, and student loans

I'm thinking that with that much construction, we will need all the Mexican construction workers we can get. Leave a hole in the wall Donald.

Reminds me of the public works part of the new deal. Hopefully I'm wrong and we get the best market determined companies in the private sector to do all of this.

yes, I support it, as does Obama and all the Democrats.
You will see massive Dem support for the plan, which is long overdue.
GOP lowballed it when it was going to help the Obama run economy too much.
Now that helping the economy helps the 2018 GOP congressional run, it will pass massively.

I support it if we show a viable way to pay for it. And it can be over 10 years or something. 100 billion a year paid for by trimming Govt waste and pulling back money spent on ridiculous foreign policy like subsidizing militaries in NATO

Or we can get out of work Americans jobs and they can pay taxes.

Got it. Thanks for that. My answer to the OP would be similar to others on here, then. I don't think fed gov should have a trillion. But if they do infrastructure is probably one of the better ways they could spend it.

Of all the shitty things the fed gov spends money on, infrastructure is one of the few I support.
Cut funding and waste from a lot of places and you can come up with 1 trill over 10 years fairly easily.
