What say you?

Rose agreed to the permanent ban. It's my understanding that he never admitted his "indiscretions" directly to the league but rather admitted vicariously through other entities. If he wants back in, he needs to put ALL his cards on the table. Being recalcitrant did not help his cause. Nobody is bigger than the game.

I did support his case for the Hall until you posted that Greta Van Susteren is pushing for it.

Her baseball beliefs are almost as batshit crazy as her religious beliefs. People have no idea how serious an offense gambling is if they think Rose should be allowed in. He had plenty of time to confess and only did so fifteen years later to sell a book. He also has never shown remorse for his actions. Not overturning Giamatti's decision was probably the best thing Bud Selig did during his entire tenure.

A slippery slope if Rose had got off lightly. If Rose gets in the HOF, it would be paramount to the camel sticking his nose under the tent. A very dangerous precedent indeed and clearly a threat to the integrity of the game. Sadly, that doesn't seem to matter to a lot of folks.

He should be in the hall of fame. He should NEVER be in a position to impact a game though. Years ago he still wanted to manage a team. That's unacceptable, but he deserves the HOF. put all the dirt on his plaque or bust, but put him in.

MLB could lift his ban, but he still won't get voted in.

+1. I don't know why people equate his ban being lifted to being voted into the hall of fame. I have my own opinion on whether or not his ban should be lifted, but regardless if there's one thing the voters have shown is that they're stubborn enough to keep guys with hall of fame credentials out just to prove a point.

With the things they are letting skate with the roid garbage MLB is really making itself look stupid by keeping Pete out.

One of Rose's main arguing points is that he never bet against the Reds to lose. With his proven history of lying, why should anyone take him at his word on this controversial issue? A mgr in baseball has so many ways to influence the out come of a game, especially when you consider the point spread being in play. He made his own bed, now he has to accept the consequences.

The HoF =/= Reinstatement to MLB

Why do people think that the commissioner has anything to do with Cooperstown???
