Ruined a perfectly good airline when they bought Continental.
Depending on where you are going it can be really bad or just bad. Rarely are they good.

My Facebook feed is always full of friends bitching about United.
Southwest is my go to airline as a PP stated.
ETA: forgot to mention that a family member is a flight attendant for United and never has anything good to say about the company.

You all do realize that when you think you're flying on United because the website said United, the plane has United painted on the side, half the time or all the time if you're flying to Baton Rouge, Shreveport etc. you are flying on a number of different regional airlines dependent on the flight.

I'm good with them currently. They gave me a $500 voucher to take a later flight last week on my way from BR to Houston...

This is true. I fly them mostly for international and have not had an issues with them.

They are fricking terrible, but so is every other domestic airline. They are a cabal of frickheads willing to screw their customers and their employees all while delivering a bad product because, well, they can.

They really do suck. I wish I had other options. I rarely choose to fly them internationally.

Flying United internationally is like inviting Satan to shite in your mouth. Their international is awful. Apparently, though, AA is worse. I fly British Airlines, Air France, Lufthansa, anything to keep from flying a domestic carrier internationally.

Yes I realize it. I live in Houston and am limited. Although the flight may be operated by XXXX airline, you still have to deal with the useless customer service people, lost luggage, the ridiculous delays and some of the worst planes of a major domestic airline.
I am a Gold Star Alliance member and Premier1K with United, trust me I have flown on a few flights.

I've never had a problem with them but I don't fly commercial all that often.
They always seems to have best flights out of Lafayette

Saw this under my seat today on a United flight. Pretty sure it was a pipe, but I didn't want to touch it or draw attention for fear they would delay our departure.
United: the airline of choice for crackheads.

Jetblu is the best domestic carrier by far IMO. American then delta next. Spirit is the worst and it's not close.
I swore I would never fly spirit again a year ago. However I just booked a 5+ hour flight with them today. $130 + $30 bag fee +40 seat with extra leg room. $200 total. Same jetblu flight was $425 and it was $530 on American, both for standard seats. Still have a feeling I'll regret not paying more than double to avoid spirit. ...

Air France planes need to be upgraded and the last couple of Lufthansa flights I've flown have been straight awful. I did an overnight in Brussels after a long Lufthansa flight and the bartender told at my hotel told me every single night he hears people complaining about them. They've really gone downhill.
I find Brussels Airlines has a newer fleet with more legroom.

American legacy carriers are all the same! They all have delays, they all have terrible customer service, they all nickel and dime you.
Now that there has been merger after merger there are only 3 legacies left (UA, AA, DL) and you're basically getting the same product on each one.
The only real difference are their frequent flyer programs and international in-flight service.

good, I have never had a bad experience with them. Their Mediterranean snack box is really good, and they have nice seats.

Yep. Ranking them depends on where you fly out of. United is better out of Houston, Delta out of Atlanta, etc.
I believe United has won best frequent flyer program for the last 10 years or so.

TRUTH!
United is cheapest, American is better, but United offers more flights and availability where i usually go.

They kinda suck flying out of PHX because they are located in Terminal 2 which is THE worst terminal to fly out of Sky Harbor. Tiny terminal with very limited food options.
