I fly them alot because they fly out of LC to Houston and then to wherever I want. No issues for me other than I don't like the flying experience. I've flown SW and AA before too. There all the same really.

They are exactly like any other major airline, not the best by any means not the worst

Prepare to be late and have your luggage lost.

This must have been a nightmare. There is no Reagan International

Be careful flying United Express to and from Lake Charles. They like to land at the wrong airport.

Depends on who you have status with.

This says it all...along with the comments from the "I buy the cheapest ticket" crowd. Airlines have poor service because NOBODY makes their buying decision based on the quality of service. The airline industry may be the only one in the world whose customers get exactly what they ask for then complain about it.

My experience with United is very good, but then I'm Global Services. I can promise you that United is the only airline that ever had a rep meet me at the aircraft door, escort me to the Tarmac, and drive me directly to the door of my connecting flight. And they've done it many times.

For those who say that the international carriers are far superior, bear in mind that you are probably only seeing their long haul international flights, which are much higher revenue. (The profitability of hubs comes from feeding international flights, not from feeding other domestic flights.). Fly ONLY international legs on Delta, AA, or United and your experience will probably be not that different from that on a foreign carrier. Alternatively, fly Lufthansa between Frankfurt and Milan, or British Airways between London and Barcelona, or Alitalia between anywhere and anywhere and you may be less impressed.

I used to be a plat and gold Cont/United for years. Their current customer service sucks and their economy class seats are the worst/smallest of the larger carriers not to mention their dismal on-time performance.

While DCA is "Reagan National" they do offer international flights to Canada and Bermuda

Their international is awful. Apparently, though, AA is worse.

Oh God. I did an international flight from JFK to Dublin, and their plane (both there and back) looked like it was straight out of 1980. The TVs were in the ceiling of the aisles and were small as well as discolored. They gave up on getting them to work on the return trip. Also they only had DC outlets...sorry I forgot to pack my car charger on a plane trip!

Their domestic planes weren't too bad...but wouldn't it kill you to update your plane at least once every 30 years?

ETA: Everyone else was on United, and they'd discuss the movies they picked to watch...

Yes, because those airports have US customs and immigration on their end.

I'm flying back out of Reagan, with a 4 hour layover in Houston (intentionally picked that) so hopefully I won't miss my connection to Monroe.

If you don't go through Denver or Chicago it's not bad. I've been delayed for the absolute dumbest reasons out of these two airports. At least out of Denver, the Expressjet connections are usually always on time for me. Got me to Lafayette 45 minutes early once.

Express on their small jets is horrendous. Regular flights are fine.

You'll probably have to take the tram over to B from C but it's pretty simple

In my experience, they're easily the worst of the major domestic carriers (excluding the low-cost models like Spirit or Frontier). American and Delta are both significantly better. Of course the problem with Houston is you're probably gonna be stuck flying them if you want the best deal. I will give United credit for one thing--They have the best app in the biz by far.

I agree with all of this. In addition, they seem to be leading the competition in their attempt to squeeze as many people into as small a space as possible.
