not really, don't really know anyone who describes suburban living as high end living. Many people with money don't give a shite about little Jackson and Madison selling lemonade in the front yard of a McMansion.

Suburban living is nice, wealthy people just have more options than that

So you're saying there are no wealthy people on the north shore? Quit talking out of your fricking arse.

not saying any such thing. The OP asked about "higher end" living. Never heard anyone describe Friday nights at Chili's high end living

Yes you sort of did and the fact that you associate with people who frequent chili's is a personal problem.

I think the issue is how you define "wealthy."

If you define it as one where your primary income is job (not asset) based and you make about 250-500k, then you don't really understand what wealthy is. That income is middle class.

If you define income as capital based and able to let your imagination run wild and afford it then that is wealthy.

There are very very few truly wealthy people on the north shore. The north shore is a middle class exurb.

Watch the movie arbitrage with richard here and Susan Sarandon where gere plays an investment banker.

Without going into the plot, he asks a poor guy to do something legally questionable for him.

The poor guy says he can't get involved and his dream is to own an Applebee's.

And without hesitation gere says : what's an Applebee's?

That's wealthy and it's not even close. Not saying there aren't some, but nola has true wealth in it.

SPS and SSA are full of both "rich" and wealthy families.

I didn't. I never claimed to.

But my father in law did through the trusts his family set up for him. I met his mother only once but his mother called Katherine Hepburn "Katie" if that tells you anything.

Not that family, but think foxcather for perspective.

I had to be essentially "taught" how to operate in that world when my wife and I began dating.

When you say middle class are you saying this puts you in the middle of the Top 3% of earners in this country? If not, you need to take some time and do a little googling.
