Where can I find more higher end living, the Northshore or Southshore?

Where would you live? Each place has some faults, It seems like the south shore is obsessed with crime and jazz, but filled with culture. The Northshore is very clean and open. I also noticed a healthier lifestyle on the Northshore. Please let me know what you think. Tuff decision!

If you have real money, New Orleans > Northshore.

If you can afford to live in the nicer parts of New Orleans, I'd do that. I'd hate to drive 30+ minutes each way every day.

Single or young couple- Southshore
Family- Northshore

Like to go out without having to drive and be close to the pulse of things- Southshore

Having a cleaner, safer environment, with occasional strip mall traffic hell- Northshore

Downtown Covington is the only place on the Northshore that gives a "small town" feel and an area of walkable shopping and restaurants on the Northshore. Mandy and Madisonville cuter and more laid back.

If you are hungry for arts and entertainment close by-stick with the city. It's more vibrant now than ever.

The Northshore still has the qualities that made it so attractive in the first place...but beyond a few small districts, it is traffic choked and getting harder to live in.

New Orleans has better education, entertainment, food, and opportunities than the north shore in every way.

There are enough terrible posters living on Northshore, that it will eventually bring down property values.
