Isn't gold a hedge, I'm talking gold stocks? Also, isn't oil a decent hedge on low dollar?

I remember 08-09 I bought EGO, Eldorado Gold and did really well.

I'm uneducated on gold. I listened to so many damn adverts selling that shite that it scares me.

I was wondering if there was a specific index to invest in now before a crash, and if there was one to target after a crash.

Dollar won't crash. If you think it will, it shows just how poorly educated you are on how banking and monetary policy works

Are we talking some nebulous future or do you have reason to think that this is happening anytime soon?

I'm knee deep in guns and whiskey. Need a little more diversity.

And of course I don't know it will crash, just my gut.

Maybe the OP is wondering about the massive increase in the federal reserve's balance sheet in the aftermath of the financial crisis and the effect it will have on inflation?

Right now there is about ~$2.8 trillion of bank reserves at the Fed. Any idea what the Fed's plan is to rein in inflation if banks eventually start lending all this money out and it makes it into open circulation instead of just sitting at the Fed? Will the Fed start selling off its assets, dropping prices of bonds, pushing interest rates up and destroying/taking out of circulation the electronic dollars as they come in...kind of like a reverse QE?

No, they produce viable seeds, but the seeds are subject to patent. Which means you cannot legally save the new seeds and replant....

The seeds are just fine. You are thinking of hybrid plants. Their seeds aren't dead, but they are not good for replanting because they will produce non uniform crops.

I don't care if the dollar crashes. I don't have any besides what's in my pocket. My net worth is stored in real estate, stocks, bonds, etc. But not dollars.

Not that the dollar is all that likely to crash anyway. People fixated on current Fed holdings need to remember that we're still in better shape than most other countries. What would cause such a crash - people are suddenly going to panic sell their dollars so they can buy rubles?

They're serious about the GMO seed patents. Several farmers here got caught saving and planting the seed. Monsanto seized the crops and sent representatives to watch the fields and monitor the harvest. Judgements ranged up to 750K dollars.

If they simply change the reserve ratio, banks won't be able to lend that money (or as much of it) out which is a quick fix. I'm not saying we can sustain 2-3% inflation we currently have according to CPI (which I still think is BS). I'm just saying my original statement, that the dollar won't crash, is accurate.

We definitely have a huge problem with the fed due to QE. I'm not going to argue that. Just saying the dollar isn't going to "crash" but maybe just lose some value
