Yes. She's learning that when you try to please everyone, you often wind up pleasing no one.

Yeah methinks her lessons are not done being learned yet.

But Mireen could be training ground for subsequently taking the iron throne (with her new ruling ability skill set)

What she needs to learn is that you can't change generations of culture overnight. Especially when you go about it by forcing your ideals upon them.

No wonder her dragons are turning on her. She's not even close to the same person she was when she birthed them.

She's a Targaryan. She needs to get back to her roots. Figure out exactly what they knew. Their old language still lives. Some text or something has to be out there.

Goddamn that Jon Stark cocktease. frick your honor Jon. YOU COULD BE LORD OF WINTERFELL

I agree but that's his character. He's the one humble major player we've seen so far. Tyrion kinda fits that bill but he's still arrogant, he just knows his boundaries.

JS gets a lot of shite but he's a solid character. He breaks the power hungry mold we're used to with everyone else. He's the one guy that can say no and be ok with it.

Great episode. I liked Stannis in this one. Uncle telling off Cersei was great. The adventures of Varys and Tyrion is funny and hopefully we get more of them instead of a couple minutes here and there. I'm tired of the tease with Arya, let's see some training and killing, frick. And yeah, JS is aggravating like his dad, for once enjoy your life

Why would they (Melisandre + Stannis) kill off a rare source of Kings blood?

What kings blood

I could be remembering this wrong, but didn't the show allude to some mystery of Jon's birth. I thought they hinted in earlier seasons that he could be Robert's son. Ned possibly was protecting him by bringing him to Winterfell.

Don't flame if I am remembering this wrong!

We've never seen Dany encounter dragon fire. It's only theorized that she can't be burnt by dragon fire. When she came out of the fire in season 1, it definitely wasn't dragon fire.

Jon's origins are a mystery, there are a few theories out there.

ETA: I'll leave it at that, because people get butthurt in this thread.

I am no book reader, just going off what I remember from the show.

I'm aware of the sensitivity of some in this thread and I support it totally.

Hodor!

What you remember is what I remember

I thought there was an episode talking about how JS was one of many of Roberts bastards

Eta I could be thinking of someone else

Jon Stark, er uh Snow has always done what it takes to do what he thinks is right if the decision is of significant importance. There was absolutely 0% chance we would take Stannis' offer.

That being said, he is ok with bucking traditions and breaking "silly honor/code stuff" - he stabs people in the back when he has to, he broke the silly Night's Watch vows when he porked Ygritte, etc.

Jon basically takes the best Stark attributes (loyal and strong) and blends it with his rouge-ish "do what it takes to survive and occasionally break rules" character traits.

Jon Snow FTW.

hardest part about following this show. I had forgotten half of them...thankfully they showed the long preview before the season started.

Good episode tonight.
