Al Gore

I would have to agree that Jesus was the most influential historical figure in western history. This is still overshadowed by the population and culture of Asia which far outweighs all of western civ.

Gengis Khan is a very important figure in history. But to say his impact on history is bigger than that of Christ, is absurd.
Please elaborate how western culture was altered more than the Mongolian conquering of the Asian continent.

Oh, poor stupid little boy got his little sensitive feelings hurt.
You poor, dumb little idiot. You're so deluded and dumb that you've tricked yourself into thinking you're smart. Truth be told, you're nothing but an impudent, stupid little shite who doesn't know his arse from a hole in the ground.
You've got a lot of growing up to do and a lot ot learn about this world, stupid little boy.

So that'd be the Knights Templar, then, the inventors of international banking.
Ya, if they somehow are Jews because Jews run all banking.

Those institutions, much like all other inventions, would have been built by others.
Good grief this is an ignorant statement.
Yes they may have been built, but how different would the world have been? The architecture, the art, the inventions, the wars, the outlines of the map, the rise and fall of countries, kings, emperors...etc. These are all things that are tangibly related to the influence of Christianity. Yet there is such a vast array of human institutions I havent even begun to scratch the surface of.
For one small example, what would the world look like today if Islam never had to deal with a Christian Rome and Europe?

Ghengis khan was generally tolerant of all religions, and did not care if his subjugants were Christian, pagan, or Buddhist. Only if they submitted to his rule or not.
True, but it's no secret that many of his conquests were the result of defending those from atrocities committed in the name of religion.

I just have a hard time believing that people in power actually do most of what they do because of religious beliefs. I find they more often twist their religions to support their intent rather than the other way around.
Whether you believe them or not, their religious justifications would have been nonexistent without the men who started the religions they stood/hid behind.

Henry VIII divorcing his wives, breaking off from the Vatican, the de Medici's warring against the Vatican, William of Orange. The list of Christianity's influence on world events goes on and on and doesn't pale in comparison to anything. Again, I'm an atheist, but Jesus influence on world events is unmatched and it's really not close if you know history.
GK had a very influential run, but it was short and not even near the enduring impact on history fwiw.

Well considering the Christian religion has been the bedrock foundation that Western Civilization has been built on for the past roughly 2000 years, I say that alone is far and away more significant than Genghis Khan and his empire that is nothing more than a footnote in history today comparatively speaking.

Must I remind you that all of Asia, at one time or another, was ruled by one of the European empires? GK was not the only one to forcibly spread his influence.
Also, I am not arguing Jesus. As I said, he was the foundation, but Paul built Christianity.

Paul would have lived and died as a regular Jewish man if not for Jesus.

That was quite a large amount of words to not say a single god damn thing. Nice try, as always, at an insult. You really are king dumbfrick

GK killed a bunch of people but it's hard to say what the impact of that was. but his biggest impact was in tearing up the Muslim world. It never regained it's civility to this day.
