Yea at first when I clicked the link I thought the school wasn't letting her walk because of something that had to do with her illness. I don't really get the outrage, she still has another class to finish and then she can walk after that. Seems kinda like the natural course for every high schooler since the beginning of time

Walking in summer school isn't quite the same. She's not missing a credit because she's an idiot. She's missing a credit because she was in the hospital. Tell my y'all see the difference here.

all that matters. Move on, nothing to see here.

Mmmmk. Thanks for your input, John fricking Wayne. I'm sure you'd say this if it was your kid suffering from a life-threatening illness.

A private school would let her walk no problem, public schools are massive bureaucracies that have rule for rules.

Private school > public school

Oh, I think they realize that full well. They are just being dicks.

I didn't really read the article so I wouldn't have known that unless it was clearly stated in the thread.

I honestly think some people don't know that. At first, I thought she either just failed a class or didn't take the right one or somethign and came up 1 short. Her missing the credit solely BECAUSE of the illness is a game changer.

I wonder how this thread's posts would look next to the lesbian girl wanting to wear a tuxedo post.

How many breaking the rule people were rule followers then? And vice versa?

Was the tuxedo wearer terminally ill or did she just want to wear a tuxedo for the hell of it? I'm failing to see the similarities here.

Not real sure how I'd feel about that. On one hand I think that if the girls are limited on dress styles (showing of cleavage, mid drift, ect) then a girl wanting to wear a tux is a no go. In reality kids today are all fricked up and this is of no real concern to them. I worry about my kids looking like a tool bags. I refuse to have them look like shite. They can look like shite when they're out of my house. If the school implemented a dress code, follow it. So in regards to CF girl wanting to walk, I'm still holding at a big ole NO. Follow the rules.

I think she tried by God fricked her by giving her a shitty disease. It's not like she was a lazy piece of shite like you.

Same kind of people that say "policy states..." at work. Rules aren't law, and even law is open to interpretation.

If that Sr. class wanted to do something memorable, they would all sit during the ceremony or not attend. No one walks if that girl doesn't walk.

There is no way in hell I'd allow my kid to skip graduation. We had a few in my class that didn't get to walk becuase they just didn't have the credits. Sorry dude but I'm walking. Im getting that diploma and strutting across that stage. Sorry life dwelt you a shitty hand. Parents wouldn't allow me to do something so stupid like that. The CF girl aint paying their bills or dealing with thier problems. Walk and thats the end of it.

Just proof that there are all around shitty people in the world. I hope you never have to deal with anything like that in your life.

Sounds nice in theory but when Amy Aaronson is called up first and she panics and goes on stage, that plan is shot because if #1 doesn't buy in then their plan is fricked.

Stupid to skip a high school graduation ceremony? I'd have given anything to have skipped mine. Same for college. And I DID skip my grad school ceremony. Ain't nobody got time for that.

I personally wish the girl would be allowed to walk but I understand why the school isn't allowing her too. You allow her to walk then you open up pandora's box and there will be stupid mother frickers claiming "My child deserves to walk just as much as she did! Why is she being treated different than my child is?!"

It's just easier for the school to be heartless and say no to this girl than to have to deal with the inevitable bullshite that will come from worthless parents looking for their kids to get the same kind of treatment even though this girl's situation is obviously different.

The rules are more important than one whiny girl's feelings. The rules must be upheld. Typical liberal trash.

Exactly. So why not let her walk?
