Pretty much answers your question.
I'd pick any position at #13 (even a kicker) if I thought he'd be a perennial All-Pro.

Disclaimer: This is assuming there's a reasonable belief it's possible to reach that level.

13 should be too valuable of a pick and we should find a player of equal talent at a higher impact position. Guard is not a high enough impact position to be taken at 13. My 2 cents.

The Cowboys took Zach Martin at #16 last season & his play at guard was a major reason why they made the playoffs. The Saints are in very similar position. Better guard play in pass pro & in the running game would be a major plus in making it back to the playoffs this season.

I think that we SHOULD take him at #13 and put him at Guard. I have been saying that for a while. Just wondering what the Board's opinion was.

Collins was an absolute road-grader last year.

No.

Don't want a guard at 13.

He's an outstanding run blocker but may struggle transitioning to pass blocking in the NFL. Hes a plug and play guard and could play tackle later on or in spot duty.

He's durable and has a good football IQ and is willing to learn. Also has no character issues.

13 wouldn't be too high because he could be a decade long quality versatile player.

I think I'd do the opposite.
Let him the fill the guard need now so he can replace Strief when the time comes.

Their entire offensive line was a major reason why they had more success. Zach Martin stepped in a played next to pretty much 4 other probowl caliber players. He did great yes, but its still not a high impact positional spot for a team. They were still a very averageish/below average defense struggled to pressure the qb and even with the great run game, still didn't do shite but winning a wild card game.

definitely would

Where he sits on the Saints Big Board is the most essential draft decider. Plenty of sites have him mid-1st Rd. Just as many tho prolly have him closer to 31 than 13 tho.

Absolutely. The reason why most teams do not draft guards until later on is because they do not value them as much as Tackles.

It's not just that. It is easier to find a dominant guard than a dominant tackle later in the draft because playing guard does not take special athletic ability and size like LT. Also everyone assumes Collins and Scherff will just become all-pro guards right away, but everyone also assumed the same for Warmack and Cooper.

On a value perspective I think 31 is a better place to pick an OG than 13.

A dominant offense line would help our current team as a whole more than any other positional unit and it really isn't close in my opinion.

Then why hadn't the Cowboys made the playoffs prior to drafting Martin? Why was their bread & butter in the run game, running the ball on the side Martin & Tyron Smith occupied? Truth is Martin made Smith better & vice versa. The trickle down effect is it made the Cowboys entire offense more efficient.

A team is not going to find answers to every need in just one offseason but the drafting of Martin clogged up a major hole they had in the interior of their offensive line & the team as a whole, benefited greatly from that addition. It turned out to be a much better decision than drafting Johnny Football.

The offense cannot afford to have another season of Drew running for his life & an inconsistent ground game.

The Cowboys have rolled around in mediocrity for a very long time. They were never legitimate contenders until last season. They basically turned into what the Saints were when they were able to dominate the line of scrimmage on the offensive side of the ball.

Why did Murray have the highest yardage total of career the year Martin's bitch Notre Dame's arse showed up? Huh huh huh?
