Hopefully it's better than Anchorman 2 was.

I don't know. That bad wig doesn't give me much hope.

Good news is that everyone is back

Bad news is that looked pretty terrible and they made me sit through another preview just as long as the actual video

I have this weird irrational hatred for David Spade. I really can't stand him in anything he's done without Chris Farley, and even when they were a pair I still didn't like him much.

That said, Joe Dirt was pretty funny, but one was enough.

Its amazing you were able to deduce all that from a 20 second video.

That 45 second video looked terrible. I didn't say the movie was going to be terrible. I'm judging what I saw

I feel exactly the same way about him.

I have a feeling this movie won't take itself serious and will produce plenty of laughs

Like a lot of comedies, Joe Dirt didn’t exactly make a fortune when it first hit the box office. In fact, the results were mediocre at best, but thanks to continued airings on cable and the weird rewatchability of the project, it has slowly turned into a cult classic over the years. Today, we got the best evidence of that yet when a sequel was officially announced for the first time.

According to Deadline, Joe Dirt 2 will begin production in November 2014 in Louisiana with an eye toward officially releasing on Crackle in 2015. That’s right. Joe Dirt 2 will be released on Crackle, which seems utterly bizarre until you think about it for a few minutes.

The move comes just a few weeks after longtime David Spade buddy Adam Sandler announced he would be releasing four upcoming movies exclusively on Netflix. That’s obviously a little more high profile than Crackle, but the deal likely got the ball rolling in the former SNL star’s mind, especially since Happy Madison will produce Joe Dirt 2. The project has been in-development for years, but as we know, that means nothing until the money is on the table. So, in the end, money from Crackle is better than no money at all.

Crackle is basically a television network on the Internet. The content is completely free, but it is interspersed with commercials in order to generate revenue. As far as we know, that means Joe Dirt 2 will simply get placed on the website whenever it’s finished and consumers will be free to watch it whenever they have time, provided they’re willing to sit through advertisements. It’s obviously not a perfect way to watch movies, but it’s better than a lot of alternatives.

Agreed. I liked the hell out of Joe Dirt though. Best Spade character by far imo.

I also liked Spade as a correspondent on Weekend Update, I think it was called This Week in Hollywood or something. He would just rip on show business and it was pretty clever.

Oh, and the flight attendant character was good too.

WTF!? They just gonna ignore the ending of the last one where he had a new wig stitched on!?

This is a serious continuity problem that tarnishes the integrity of the entire franchise!! THIS WILL NOT STAND! RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE!

Not surprised, it is coming from Sandler's production company.

Same here. They flashed a couple of familiar faces, had him rehash a couple of old lines and expected us to piss our pants in laughter.

That being said, I'd like to think their lack of effort won't extend to the actual movie because I loved me some Joe Dirt.
