So many memories of my parents dancing in the kitchen/living room while Percy Sledge's record played in the big console record/8 track/amfm radio furniture.

RIP Mr Sledge, you brought happiness to so many!

Doing the ol' switcharoo to us Bama fans, huh? Fine, I'll allow it.

Rest in Peace, Percy.

Wonder if they will play his song "Cover Me" when they go to bury him? Too Soon?

He used to live on the same street as my friend in Montocello subdivision. In the early 90's Percy's yard was green astro turf.

Yep, looks like another Alabama/Louisiana connection here since he was a native of Leighton, Al.

Rest in Peace Percy

I remember growing up, we'd see him shopping at Wal Mart. My mom would say "that's Percy Sledge". As kid, I had no clue who he was. I wonder who will perform at car dealership labor day sales.

I'm guessing he's a whiter shade of pale now.

Seriously loved his music though, RIP Percy
