That was an entertaining game though.

Maybe they and Ottawa can play a scramble to help save the flora and fauna of Yellow Knife

Note that I included my own team in that analysis. Caps fans have that same sense of impending doom come the playoffs. and just a cursory look at this thread shows Blues fans have the same feeling.

So, yeah. Part of it is the fanbase. You can just feel it when you're in the building: everyone expects bad things to happen, they just aren't sure what. And players feel it, too. It takes on a life of its own and in a way, it's far more pressure to play for the Caps, Blues, and Sharks in the playoffs than for the Habs or Bruins. Their ghosts help their teams. Our ghosts torment us.

Baloo you are going to have to speak for yourself on this one bud. I was in the building for game 2 and there was no impending doom when we were down 3-1. Yeah the fanbase was bummed, but I had the sense that everyone knew we were poised for a comeback. It was a let's cut the bullshite and get down to business attitude.

The Caps are down 2-1, same position they were in against Boston in 2012. The Isles have played IMO 110% and the Caps have played around 50%. They lose tonight the series is over, but if they can snag one in Nassau coming back to Verizon, momentum swings back to the Caps.

Have some faith brother.

Yeah, Game 2 was awesome. But that was also because there was a concerted effort by the fanbase to not repeat the dead building of Game 1. Caps blogs were even writing thinkpieces on why its okay that we can't Rock the Red anymore and there is no Unleashing of the Fury. Which is BS. It's not okay to not be loud and intimidating in the playoffs.

In Game 2, the fans came and partied hard. And they Unleashed the Fury in the second period. Alan May is so awesome.

I just don't need you having a defeatist attitude, because that shite is cancer like you have essentially stated earlier.

I just have to keep telling myself the Isles have played the best they can, if the Caps can match it like they are able to, I fully believe they will take the series...and for the love of G, get that first goal.

I'm not defeatist, man. Isles played as well as they possibly could on Sunday, and they needed OT to beat the Caps. And that's with Fehr and Mojo out (both might be out again, but this time, the Caps will have replacements for them, in Game 3, the Caps were essentially down to 3 lines of available forwards). These are two really evenly matched teams, and it can go either way.

Before the series, I thought it would go 7. I still think that. But winning tonight would help a lot.

If Mojo is able to go, who do you want to play in place of Fehr?

Andre Burakovsky or Michael Latta

I'd play Burakovsky in place of about half the forwards on the team. It's almost indefensible he's not playing with everyone healthy. I like Latta, but Burra is a special player, and he needs to be out there, particularly against a smallish Isles team that won't physically punish him. I could see benching him against the Rangers, but the Isles? Let him skate on the first line. My lines with Fehr out:

Ovi-Backs-Bura
Mojo-Kuz-Brouwer
Chimera-Laich-Ward (reunite the CLAW, baby!)
Glencross-Beagle-Wilson

Why are they only going with 3 games a night now?

How do they determine who gets the extra day of rest?

I think there are probably arena issues. Detroit/Tampa is now on a rotation with Wash/Isles, Chi/Nash, and Van/Cal for a few days. I just want to know the time of the Saturday game. I don't mind when Detroit plays in the afternoon on Sunday, but I just want to get blackout drunk for a Friday or Saturday night game.
